Academic Tutor Online is a UK-based provider of high-quality online tutoring services for students worldwide. Through virtual learning, we offer flexible and accessible academic support that can be easily integrated into busy schedules.

We provide tutoring across a wide range of subjects and examinations, including GCSEs, A Levels, IB Diploma, SAT, ACT, TOEFL, and entrance examinations for leading British boarding schools and top universities in the UK, including University of Oxford and University of Cambridge.

We intentionally work with a carefully selected and trusted group of tutors to maintain a consistently high standard of teaching and student support. As a result, we place strong emphasis not only on academic ability and subject knowledge, but also on professionalism, communication skills, reliability, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and families.

We are looking for tutors who are passionate about education, committed to delivering high-quality lessons, and able to provide a supportive and engaging learning experience for every student.

Role Description

Tutors work on a self-employed basis with flexible working hours.

The Online Tutor will be responsible for delivering personalised online lessons, preparing tailored lesson plans, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals. Responsibilities include providing subject-specific tutoring, preparing students for examinations and entrance assessments, offering constructive feedback, writing regular progress reports, and maintaining accurate lesson records.

Qualifications

Essential

Strong subject knowledge in physics (e.g. GCSE, A Level, IB, SAT, IELTS).
Experience teaching the UK curriculum, or excellent academic achievement in the relevant subject area.
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, effective and well-structured online lessons.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, parents and colleagues.
Ability to assess student progress and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
Confidence using online educational platforms and digital teaching tools, including Microsoft Teams.
Self-motivated, organised and able to manage time effectively while working remotely.
Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a related subject.
Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
Teaching qualifications or relevant subject-specific certifications.
