121 Health&Care are looking for dedicated Self-Employed Domiciliary Care Workers to join our friendly and supportive team in Wokingham. Our carers play an essential role in helping people remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes while delivering high-quality, person-centred care with dignity, respect and compassion.
We currently have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, although we are particularly looking to recruit full-time carers.
Whether you're an experienced care worker or looking to start a career in care, we'd love to hear from you. Previous experience is welcomed but not essential, as full paid training will be provided.
About the Role
As a Self-Employed Domiciliary Care Worker, you'll provide personalised care and support to clients in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.
No two days are the same, but your duties may include:
- Providing personal care with dignity and respect
- Assisting with washing, dressing and personal hygiene
- Preparing meals and encouraging good nutrition
- Supporting clients with medication in accordance with their care plans
- Assisting with mobility and helping clients move safely around their homes
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting with light household tasks where required
- Taking clients to appointments, shopping trips and social outings
- Working closely with families and healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care
- Following personalised care plans and reporting any changes in a client's wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date care records using basic IT systems
You'll work independently throughout the day while always having the support of our friendly management team whenever you need it.
Working Pattern
- Self-employed position
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Full-time applicants are preferred
- Alternate weekend working is required as part of a planned rota
- Rotas are provided in advance to help you plan your schedule

Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A full UK driving licence
- Access to your own reliable vehicle
- A valid DBS certificate
- Good spoken and written English
- The right to work in the UK (please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship)
- A willingness to work on a self-employed basis
Pay & Benefits
- £15.00–£17.00 per hour, depending on experience

Mileage
As this is a self-employed position, travel between your home and clients is not reimbursed. However, mileage incurred while transporting clients during your shift—such as to medical appointments, shopping trips or social activities—is paid.
