Location: Remote (UK)

Hours: 25 hours per week

Salary: £17,031.25 per annum (£27,250 FTE equivalent)

Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (Immediate start available)

About Us

We are a growing bookkeeping practice providing cloud-based bookkeeping and financial support services to a range of UK businesses.

Our focus is on delivering accurate bookkeeping, excellent client service and practical support that helps our clients stay on top of their finances. We operate as a fully remote team and pride ourselves on offering a flexible and supportive working environment.

The Role

We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team.

You will support a portfolio of clients by maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, assisting with VAT returns and ensuring financial information is processed accurately and on time.

This role would suit someone with bookkeeping experience who is looking to develop their skills within a growing practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

Process sales invoices, purchase invoices and expense transactions.
Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records within Xero and other cloud accounting systems.
Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
Review client records and identify missing information.
Communicate with clients to obtain bookkeeping information and resolve routine queries.
Support month-end bookkeeping processes.
Ensure client records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist colleagues with bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required.

About You

Essential

At least 3 year's bookkeeping experience.
Experience using Xero or similar cloud accounting software.
Good understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Confident written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Positive and proactive approach to work.

Desirable

Experience working within a bookkeeping or accountancy practice.
AAT qualification or current AAT studies.
Experience preparing VAT returns.
Experience using QuickBooks Online.
Payroll experience.
