Hours: 22.2 hours per week
Salary: £30,572 to £32,586 pro rata per annum. Plus generous benefits, including:

About the role
This well-established role within the Art & Design curriculum area involves supporting teaching staff and students across a range of practical and digital learning activities.
The successful candidate will have an interest in art, design, and creative technologies, with experience or enthusiasm for working with specialist equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters. An understanding of Apple Mac computers and Adobe Creative Suite would be beneficial, although training can be provided for candidates who are keen to develop these skills.
The role includes assisting students with practical art and design projects, supporting the safe use of workshop equipment and digital resources, preparing materials and learning spaces, and maintaining specialist equipment. The successful candidate will also play an active role in supporting the wider curriculum through exhibition and show planning, preparation and installation, ordering materials and resources, stock control, and providing technical support across the Art & Design curriculum to ensure workshops, studios, and learning spaces are well organised and fully equipped.
About the person
Applicants should have a broad understanding of Art and Design, particularly within design-based disciplines, together with an enthusiasm for supporting students in a creative learning environment.
A good understanding of health and safety practices is essential, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide effective advice, guidance, and practical support to students and staff. Previous experience of working with students or in an educational setting would be advantageous.
Knowledge of digital design software, operating systems, Adobe Creative Suite would be beneficial, although training will be provided. Experience of using or supporting creative technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and other digital fabrication equipment would also be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, checking, maintaining, and preparing digital resources and specialist equipment to ensure they are safe, operational, and ready for teaching and learning activities.
