Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Burger Van Chef to join our vibrant mobile food team! In this role, you will be the driving force behind creating delicious, high-quality smash burgers. A passion for food preparation, culinary skills, and commitment to food safety will ensure customers enjoy an exceptional dining experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your cooking talents while working in a dynamic environment that values enthusiasm and professionalism.

This is a new venture and there is an opportunity for you to put your own stamp on things. We currently don’t know how busy it will be so there is an opportunity to adjust the hours as you establish what periods are busy. There will also be the opportunity for potential evening work and events. Also, if the business gets busy we can employ more staff members.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of smash burgers and accompanying menu items with precision and flair
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the mobile kitchen at all times
Manage meal preparation efficiently to serve customers quickly during busy periods
Serve customers with friendly, prompt, and professional service, ensuring a positive experience
Monitor stock levels, restock ingredients, and assist with inventory management
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, adhering to health regulations

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of kitchen safety protocols and food hygiene standards
Previous restaurant or catering experience is highly desirable
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable attitude
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques specific to burgers and quick-service foods
Basic understanding of food safety regulations and proper handling of ingredients
