Full job description

Salary: NJC Scale 4, pts 7-11, £19,962 to £21,277 (actual)

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

(Usual working hours are 8:30 to 3:30, Monday to Friday)

Contract Basis: Permanent

Closing Date: 9am, Monday 21 September 2026

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the existing Cover team within St George’s Academy.

The successful candidate will be required to cover and supervise students and their work when a teacher is absent.

The ideal candidate will:

· Be able to motivate and inspire pupils

· Have experience of working with children and managing behaviour

· Have good attention to detail

· Be keen to learn and develop their skills

· Be flexible and committed to supporting the work ethos of the Academy

· Have a good level of ICT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, mail merge and other ICT packages.

· Hold a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

Previous experience within education would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

St George’s Academy is a large, successful, 11-18 mixed secondary school of 2,340 students (including 334 in the sixth form) with outstanding facilities in all areas. The Academy serves Sleaford, Ruskington and the surrounding Lincolnshire villages with our main campus in Sleaford and our smaller campus in the village of Ruskington.
