The British International Remote School (BIRS) delivers high-quality, live online British curriculum education to students globally. Alongside our core online school, BIRS serves as an institutional education provider, delivering subject-specialist live instruction and academic support to partner schools and international student cohorts.

We are seeking dedicated, qualified educators to join our remote teaching faculty for the 2026–2027 Academic Year.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, interactive live online lessons.
Monitor student progress, assess student work, and provide constructive feedback.
Maintain high standards of student engagement, virtual classroom management, and digital citizenship.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and development.
Adhere strictly to the school's safeguarding, child protection, and online safety policies.

Candidate RequirementsEssential

Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
Curriculum Experience: Proven experience teaching the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3.
Safeguarding Experience: Demonstrated experience working with children within a safeguarding-conscious educational environment.
Digital Literacy: Proficiency in virtual teaching platforms, digital whiteboards, and online communication tools.
Working Environment: Access to a quiet home office or teaching space, reliable high-speed broadband, an HD webcam, and a clear audio setup.
Compliance: Enhanced DBS certificate (or international police clearance equivalent) together with satisfactory professional references.

Desirable

Previous experience delivering live lessons in an online school environment.

Key Recruitment Dates & Information

Term 1 Start Date: September 2026

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an initial online interview followed by a paid 20-minute online demonstration lesson.
