Teach and Connect are working with a welcoming primary school in West Berkshire to appoint an experienced Interim Headteacher for the first half of the Autumn Term.
This is a unique opportunity to provide operational leadership while working alongside the substantive Headteacher, who is returning to work on a phased basis following a period of absence.
The strategic direction of the school will remain with the substantive Headteacher and senior leadership team. Your focus will be ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school, providing visible leadership, stability and support during the phased return period.
The role will include:
- Leading the operational day-to-day management of the school
- Supporting staff and maintaining a calm, positive school environment
- Working closely with the Headteacher and leadership team
- Ensuring safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and daily operations run effectively
- Providing confidence and continuity for pupils, staff and families

We're looking for someone who:
- Has substantial Headteacher or Executive Headteacher experience
- Can confidently lead a primary school from day one
- Is calm, resilient and highly organised
- Has excellent operational leadership skills
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and primary school leadership
- Can quickly build positive relationships with staff, pupils and families
