Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plasterer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in masonry and related trades to develop their skills within a professional environment. The position involves working on diverse projects, from residential to commercial buildings, requiring precision and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be organised, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers before plastering.
Mix plaster to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers.
Apply plaster evenly to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using trowels, hawks, and other hand tools.
Utilise bricklaying and masonry skills for specialised finishing work where required.
Operate power tools such as drills, saws, and mixers safely and efficiently.
Perform repairs on existing plaster surfaces to restore smoothness and durability.
Assist with related tasks such as carpentry or roofing when needed on-site.
Maintain a clean work environment by clearing debris and ensuring tools are stored properly after use.
Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times during operations.

Requirements

Proven experience in plastering, masonry, or related trades such as bricklaying or carpentry.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in plastering.
Knowledge of masonry techniques including bricklaying and general construction practices.
Ability to operate roofing or welding equipment is advantageous but not essential.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.
Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary.
Commitment to health and safety standards on-site.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are desirable but not mandatory.
