Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Packaging Technician to join our Largepack production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the process plant and equipment, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting overall manufacturing efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in food safety and mechanical processes to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for the safe processing of incoming empty keg containers according to the keg and cask production plan.
· Understand and follow all plans and procedures.
· Running of all keg plant operations throughout the shifts including beer interfaces, pasteurisation, sterile filtration etc.
· Caustic cleaning and sterilisation of the keg plant.
· Set up and CIP cask racking plant.
· Running of all Cask racking plant operations including beer interfaces.
· Ensuring the Keg/Cask area is cleaned to required standards.
· Ensure samples are correctly processed for lab sampling and tasting.
· Follow all the companies agreed safety procedures.
· Reliable and committed to completing weekly production requirements.
· Decanting of containers identified for destruction.
· Maintain strict adherence to HACCP and other food safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards.
· Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues, applying basic mechanical knowledge to resolve minor faults.
· Record production data accurately for inventory and quality control purposes.
· Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and minimise downtime during shifts.
· Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in food production or manufacturing environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety standards is desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with machinery maintenance is beneficial.
- Maths/English skills are essential for accurate record keeping.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and good manufacturing practices will be considered an asset. This position is suitable for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a high-quality food production process while developing their technical skills in a supportive environment.
- Current forklift truck licence would be a distinct advantage.
