Full job description

Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Motor Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles and equipment. In this energetic role, you will apply your mechanical expertise to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure optimal performance of machinery. Your hands-on skills and attention to detail will keep our operations running smoothly, supporting safety and efficiency across all projects. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We also have a large fleet of motorhomes that require maintenance and servicing on a regular basis due to the hire aspect of these vehicles which would be part of your day to day duties.

Duties

Diagnose mechanical problems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs accurately
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate
Assist with heavy lifting and equipment repair tasks safely and efficiently
Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a secure work environment
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients or team members

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience working on various vehicle systems
Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual tasks required in vehicle repair work
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
Excellent communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration
Prior experience in maintenance or equipment repair is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate

Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
