The management structure isn’t great, is fairly relaxed and they tend to forget generally quite a bit. Doesn’t manage a sufficient work load balance. It’s either too much or nothing to actually do of value. 

SOPs I hope you like reading hundreds if not thousands of pages total of the way they operate and then update it a week later for you to read again. Which also they’re very strict about enforcing, or at least that’s what some of them tell you. When others just do their own thing and get away with disregarding it completely. 

Structure isn’t great as I don’t know how they manage to make any money. Especially with the amount of product they end up chucking away. 

Pay isn’t great for what you actually do. 

Lot of department team members keep to themselves in like a clique 

Canteen rooms aren’t really big enough for the size of the company. 

They undervalue the experienced members of staff. 

A day working at Allergy Therapeutics is a busy day. We have a time frame of 8am-4pm to make sure everything is packed and ready to be taken out to the lorries which are then sent to Germany. I like that the workplace is a busy environment so that we are always busy and staying focused on getting the work done on time. We start the day off by getting the medicine out of the fridges as they need to stay at a certain temperature, we then put them all through on the computer to make sure they have gone through the system, once they are through the system we will also be able to see if we have missed any packets once they have been packed ready to be boxed up and put into the lorry. If we have missed any then we have to go through the boxes we have already packed to find it which can be difficult and very time consuming. If we cant find the packet or it just takes a lot of time we have to stay past 4pm which is why we always want to finish before then so we finish on time.

Worked in many areas for this company, from manufacturing to packaging the products for many different markets around the world.
What I learnt is that customer always come first, right first time to not delay batches. I cannot list everything about this job and its roles as there was many Standard Operating Procedures that I adhered to. The whole ethos of the personnel was to be the best you can.
Management although busy were approachable and concerned about anything you may raise to them. 
Co workers were friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and willing to help when issues were found.
Hardest part of the job was constant changing of area designated gowns which could be many times a day.
Most enjoyable part was knowing your activity was helping a poor or sick patient get the medicine they need to help them through their day.

The Company isn't a bad one to work for, however there are areas that do make it unpleasant, they say its a family based culture there well in the past year or so it has not had that feeling, there's an attitude of Us and Them, so certain departments are favoured over others, they talk about mental health but when it's mentioned nothing is done! Also they say it's not a blame culture but you would find yourself being blamed when the full facts have not been gathered! But despite this the people there are nice to work along side, the company party's are some of the best I've been to, bonus scheme isn't to bad could do with improvement, pay scale also needs changing as there's very little difference between new starters and fully trained staff! 

I've been working at ATL for just over a month now in the Development team and it's been great! The team are all really friendly and there have been plenty of opportunities to learn from the first day. So far I've been involved in re-writing procedures, testing instrument repeatability and writing risk assessments and technical reports. The workplace culture is great; we have a department picnic every week and regular 1:1 appointments with managers to discuss what we would most like to learn going forward. I've also been allowed to meet other departments as part of the induction which has been really interesting too!

A lot of paperwork which has to be meticulous

Very good everyone pulls together as a team 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Firstly get all batch records for the job get products out of cold store. Could be packing on the line or labeling on machine also inspection of product checking quality

The work is different and interesting 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is a culture of being reactive rather than proactive, and the workload is stressful when it all goes wrong, which is a regular occurrence.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Rushed, stressed,sometimes fun depending where you work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Good and bad all at the same time. Too much internal politics and outdated working practices.

I joined Allergy Therapeutics in April and have nothing but praise. 

I am given autonomy to do the job and the great thing about the company is the opportunities to progress and develop your own skills.  

Some really great learning opportunities, a comprehensive learning package for employees at all levels. 

The culture is so inclusive, I've not met anyone yet who isn't friendly and willing to help and despite how busy people are they will always make time. 

There are great things on the horizon as well! 

Management is poor, very hands off approach to running the lab (I.e. leaving it in the hands of incompetent deputies). As long as they get their pay rise, they simply do not care! 
Issues that have a huge affect on data integrity or batches are raised and ignored. There is no career progression, despite promising promotions. As such, all the decent workers leave quickly and you are left with people too complacent or stupid to be hired anywhere else. Entry level positions are barely above living wage and are very stressful.

Having worked for Allergy Therapeutics for some time now, I believe the Company has it's people at the heart of what we do.  
From a HR perspective we are working on, and investing in, a number of initiatives to continue to make ATL a great place to work. 
There are ambitious plans for the future that I'm very excited to be a part of.
As with all companies, we're not 100% there yet, but we know what our focus is and will work together as a global team to achieve our goals.
