Atlas Cleaning Limited

I worked as a Purchase Ledger Administrator, and while I gained valuable experience managing high volumes of invoices and supplier queries, I found the overall work environment disappointing.

When I joined, I was informed that I could work from home at least two days a month after probation. However, once my probation ended, this flexibility was withdrawn without any clear reason, even though other staff members continued to have more relaxed arrangements.

There were also inconsistencies in working hours. Most staff worked 9–5 with a one-hour break, whereas those in the Purchase Ledger department were required to work 9–5:30 (or 9–5 with only a half-hour break). When I raised this, I was told it was because my salary was £500 higher, which felt unfair, especially given the heavy workload and comparatively low pay for the level of responsibility involved.

Management also tended to question employees for leaving on time, which created unnecessary pressure. Overall, there was a noticeable lack of fairness, flexibility, and appreciation for the effort put in by the team.


Unfortunetly not the best experience so I'll be blunt . 
 
You'll be working with 11 members of 1 family. All friends or related in someway.  so already brace yourselves for the obvious to happen. 

You will be working alone in big areas to clean by yourself in a poorly lit zoo when you walk alone back to the offices.  

Toxic working environment with many staff members telling you false information.  

Manager does Not want to be there , doesn't bother to approve holiday even if given months in advance , a totally split work 'team'. Management continously contradicts themselves and make their own rules but do not follow.  

Health and safety is non existent.  

Hours are a worthless 4 hours , overtime you don't get a look in as the rota evolves around their family.  Be warned if you fall out with 1 you fall out with all and you will be ignored by the team members for no reason . 

Staff members continously take your areas keys they are not even cleaning so you'll be spending the majority of your shift chasing the keys around the zoo then faced with attitude from stroppy teenagers.

It's a unhealthy and mentally straining place to work.  Avoid.




Pros

The management team in this organization appears to be exceptional, as they are not only friendly and approachable but also responsive to people's needs. They have a reputation for sorting out complaints quickly, which is a valuable quality to have in any management team. Cons

It appears that the organization faces some challenges in terms of career progression and salary adjustments. Employees seem to have very little opportunity to advance, which can lead to frustration and even lack of motivation. 

Working for Atlas has been something of a mixed bag. On the negative side, there were repeated complaints which I didn't understand at all as I have always given 100 per cent (although it is a fairly short shift). Once I made it clear to my manager that I thought these complaints were groundless, and that I wouldn't tolerate them, they stopped, and it's been like that for a good couple of months. Long may it continue! Apart from that, working for Atlas has not been bad with friendly manager and colleague. The job is shared between two, we are both fairly happy with what we have to do and what we get paid, there is a sense of teamwork and support rare in this profession. Also, when I spoke to Head Office about pension deductions I was pleasantly surprised that they do listen to what you say and want. I would therefore recommend Atlas to anybody thinking of doing this kind of work.

I found no help from management whatsoever, there is no work life balance at all unless you’re a manager.
The most enjoyable part of the job was going home at the end of your shift.
The Area Managers are all nice to your face when they want you to do something for them but if you want something from them it takes 3 to 5 business days for them to respond!!!
The hardest part of the job is every contract as you are basically dumped in the contracts with very little or no help at all.
Management are more concerned about their private lives than actually doing their job, my area manager used to babysit her grandchildren in company hours, and used the excuse of doing admin to cover it!!!!
They are a truly shocking company to work for.
I was asked to do mobile work with a van provided and they used the van to screw me over when doing contracts.
I left the role due to the backstabbing and epic lies from my area manager!!!!

The typical day involves meetings which have zero relevance. Inductions and team meetings where the favourite gets to speak about the latest going ons in their life. No clear direction for tackling the work. Training is minimal. They do not have any training notes. Owner has a unhealthy need to keep coming in and out the office and make his wealth known. Yet they can’t afford a light bulb? I was literally put under a broken light bulb for 2months for a role requiring 35 hours in front of a computer screen. Many of the staff are related. Location is horrible. It is a farm in the middle of nowhere. Imagine getting attacked and injured on your way home from work and then your company let you go a couple weeks later. The hardest part of the job is to see a colleague get praise for not doing much work while you are ignored despite bringing in over 100k overdue. 

When I started working, I first emptied all the bins and replaced their bags, then I cleaned the desks and workspaces, followed by hoovering the floors, and I always finished by cleaning the windows.

During my time at Atlas Cleaning, I learned that there is a fast and efficient way to finish my job. I also learned that cleaning is quite a therapeutic job.

The management and my co-workers were fair and respected me as a team member, and always offered to lend a hand if they could get their work done quickly.

The hardest part of the job was having to work around the Twinings employees that stayed late to work overtime. They sometimes made messes in places that already had been tended to.
However, they sometimes talked to me, which was enjoyable as it made the work less lonely.

Stay well clean of this company at all cost terrible company to work for the manager don't care doesn't do anything about a problem u have he just sides me the other ones involed and he is so rude don't let u speak at all if u have learning problems like I have he uses them  against u over it and stay well clear of being a cleaner in the nationwide bank in petersfield as they are terrible people they make stuff up about u what isn't even true at all  they are never happy with what u do so stay clear of the company and the bank as well  not worth the hassle too much stress involed with all of it  and that is why I have my notice in and I have 2 jobs with another  company what are better then this company so iam glad to be a way from here because of it

I worked for this company for around 2 years. The job and other colleagues are great. What is not great is the manager! I mean if you want to work a million hours a day then get harassed on your personal phone during your days off then you will love it! Your personal life is discussed in the office with a few added lies added from the manager! The manager doesn't have a home life so finds it hard to understand why staff want to clock off and go home.
So to sum it up if your happy working well over your contracted hours, do as your told, and don't complain as that's seen as being awkward and dont mind working for someone who tells more lies than pinocchio then look no further! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! 

2 faced office staff, always backstabbing behind people's backs. Favouritism to certain employees. Pay is rubbish single rates for Saturday and Sundays and expect too much from you. Management organisation is a pure joke lack off communication and structure. If you have any personal problems you get NO and I mean NO support from them, they just forget about you. Care more about the vans than you as an employee. #if you have any sense you'd keep away from this company as there only in it for themselves and don't care about you as an employee. At the end of the day your not just a cleaner your a dog's body and expect to do more tham just cleaning.
