The amount of paper in this businesses is shocking. They are so outdated and waste time and money on printing things that are only to be uploaded onto the system. What is the point? They try to be cost effective but fail as they are just stingy and do not want to spend a single penny even if it is worth it. They do not see that they are not helping themselves or anyone. DISGUSTINGLY STINGY AND MONEY HUNGRY, GREEDY AND PATHETIC.

Colleagues are useless as no one knows what is going on. They do not care if someone leaves- they just fire people and move onto the next. They then to this next person so do not apply here. You will fail your probation have it extended or MOST LIKELY get fired.

When you are new you are treated very weirdly as everyone just stares and looks down on you. You are blamed when you get things wrong as you are expected to know and have previous experience. They lie about your job role in the interview and you are promised things that will never be true. They also lie about the salary you are promised. There is no negotiation they know what they want to give you. The money is just so ridiculous for what you do. 

They are extremely ungrateful and not appreciative to anything you do. No sick pay or permission to leave for essential appointments- they do not care about those with medical conditions. The whole working culture and vibe here is just so outrageous to even describe. 

Even if you come in early you are not granted to leave early or thanked. Pathetic and grossly controlling management. 
As a respectable, experienced and professional person I would advise everyone to  steer clear from this company. They are so so horrible and choose not to do anything about it. If this is you first time in full time employment I also wish you stay extra clear from them as they will ruin your whole concept of work.

I feel that whomever says a job is a job — is correct! Everyone wants to go to work, get paid, go home.. But working for a company like CCS, where you feel trapped, depressed, unhappy, unanswered, not listened to... (I’m sure the list could go on) When it’s so frustrating to feel like no one is listening to you, when you don’t matter. Overworked, underpaid, stressed out, feel bullied and constantly pressured. I have never been so manipulated by a company such as this one. You will be messed about, hours changed, routine changed, lied to and basically pushed over the edge. There is no appreciation, no communication, no professionalism. And it’s appalling that there are company’s like this. But not as bad as this one, once you’re in it — You’re stuck. 

I was also told directly by the directing manager and accountant manager is “We don’t throw our dirty laundry in front of a client.” <<  Not a good company. Do not work here because they make your lives difficult. Also my holiday entitlement is 20 days — I have only had 5 in the last year. And apparently I’m not entitlement to anymore. 

I can’t wait to turn around and say ‘Shove your job somewhere it’s not wanted!’

Not a friendly company and it’s disappointing that they are such a large company that you’d think they would care about their employees (Who, might I point out, run around after them whilst they sit back and watch without a care in the world) when really? They only care about themselves. Their wants and needs. I’m sure a lot of people whom have worked/working for Churchill know their traits.

What is the best part of working at the company?
What really stands out is the culture. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, mutual respect, and pride in the work people do. It’s refreshing to be part of an environment where people not only excel in their roles but also genuinely care about each other’s development and success.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It’s still a bit too early in my journey to give a full assessment. I’m only just settling into the role, and while the initial experience has been positive, I haven’t been here long enough to fairly comment.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Joining the company has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. From the very first day, I’ve felt genuinely supported by both my colleagues and the management team. Everyone has been warm, approachable, and eager to help, which has made settling in feel effortless.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day in my role involves balancing both operational oversight and relationship management. My main focus is ensuring that all sites maintain consistently high cleaning standards, so a good portion of my day is spent reviewing site performance, checking in with the staff,  and addressing any issues that need quick action. I also spend time planning resources, coordinating teams, and making sure staffing levels align with the needs of each location etc.

I worked for this company as a Manager for over 2 years. During that time I came to realise they are the most ruthless unsympathetic company I have ever seen. They scam both their clients and the staff for everything they can get. I was responsible for numerous contracts where they continually under delivered service whilst being draconian with the staff. I reviewed a school contract I was responsible for to find they'd benefited by over £25k on top of their declared profit. I even went to my MP as I was so angry with scamming public money this way. Unfortunately though if I had pursued it other good people would be implicated therefore I dropped the case. I brought the service levels back to the agreed contract level to be disciplined by the company. ~Another contract the staff were working a full year to be paid just 14 days holiday per year. When I challenged the company I was told that this was an education site and thus only eligible for 39 weeks per year. The rest of the year they were paid overtime which didn't include any holiday entitlement. Thankfully I managed to finally get out by taking the cleaning service in house at one of my contracts and get both myself and staff TUPed across. The staff and myself are much happier now and I have had 0% turnover of staff within the last 12 months. Its amazing what can be done when you value and respect your staff. A lesson for all companies!

A Typical Day at Work:
- It's easy going as you get to come in at 15:30pm when all the kids have left the premises. You are expected to do the bare minimum of cleaning which I think is basic, but it includes emptying bins, sweeping, mopping, cleaning toilets, cleaning tables and cleaning glass.

- When I properly started working there they didn't have the best supervisor to manage or support me or the other  employers, but things have changed since we got a new  supervisor. I honestly didn't think things were going to change or improve when we got a new supervisor, but she raised and stepped up to the challenge and has changed everything in the work place for the better. She is very supportive with helping other employers, she importantly encourages us to be a really great team of us all working together ,always caring about the employers well being making sure they are ok and making sure when we leave work we are going home happy not frustrated or stressed.

Workplace Culture:
- Everyone is welcomed and very well respected.

The Hardest Part Of The Job:
 - Keeping up with cleaning glass everyday

The Most Enjoyable Part of The Job:
- Doing as much cleaning as you can within the 3 hours you have so your keeping up with things and not getting behind on things as it makes it easier on the day to day basis Monday to Friday.

Wouldnt reccomend this company at all understaffed all the time with ridiculous staff turnover and never enough workers to get the job done. Always increasing workload with no correct proper training delivered from upper management especially on large mechanical equipment whilst also wondering why then some staff are doing jobs incorrectly. Some people dont even get paid properly heard it's a common problem if you work hard you expect to be paid for it without issues. Higher up managers very clearly favour some staff and treat them better than others while others are spoken to horribly and often these same managers generally seen as unapproachable impolite and unprofessional. Company management is big issue and is what contributes the most to poor staff morale, bad communication and relentless pressure to get all work done even when remaining understaffed or haven't got enough equipment, no genuine appreciation or gratitude shown by upper management to staff taking on extra work and to be honest it slowly becomes expected, no bonuses or real incentives to go the extra mile for them and so much staff burnout and sickness. Equipment not the best always breaking as rubbish quality or running out and always left short of something. Min wage pay alright for a temp or part time job but dont stay long term very little to no opportunity for career development. Got a bad rep for a reason 

What a poo company, can’t get your wages right, nor my co workers wages. The managers are inept, don’t know who you are and don’t care.
 Transferred to Churchill under TUPE rules and previous employer sent all the personal information needed securely to Churchill. Now Churchill keep asking for our marriage certificates, N I numbers or we won’t get paid, but we are getting paid, not always correctly. What are you doing with our data? You have a legal obligation to look after our data so what are you doing with it? 
Your online wage system is a joke, not everyone can get online for some reason. You have received our NI numbers but keep asking for them, but they are displayed on our on line page so why are you still asking for them? You obviously have them on your  systems so why do you keep asking for them?????
  Here we have a company who give new starters a photocopy of a Health & Safety Questionnaire which you had to answer multi choice questions, then sign the declaration at the bottom that you had read the handbook and listened to an audio CD. No handbook and no CD so no signature, I will not sign an official piece of paper certifying I had read the hand book when it wasn’t supplied to any of the staff, once signed it becomes an official document whereby in any future disciplinary action they will produce this paper and say “ you read the book, you know the rules, you signed the paper, you’re dismissed”. What type of company treats Health & Safety like this? Churchill are a joke

Managers dont have time to manage staff due to workload I presume. Managers always in a rush and cut you short in discussions and cant get any problems dealt with properly because they are over worked. Over worked and underpaid. Dont always pay minimum wage and say that it is legal. Dont like paying staff what they have rightfully earned through hard work, verging slave labour working at fast speed to get everything done. Do not like parting with their money. Make errors on payroll and on their end and do not pay you due to their errors. The way they operate is a farce, automated phone services and can only talk to line manager not HR. Have a go at you if you try and ring HR and have to escalate with line manager, and then wait weeks for response when you were trying to get adequate equipment. Culture horrendous, no regard for staff not getting their well earned wages that they have rightfully earned and worked hard for. Deduct from wages for any excuse they can think of. Seem to be trained to find at least one fault during visits regardless, they have to find something.Not forthcoming with the small print, and sending you contract details -even though everything done electronically. Dont honour holiday requests.Dont act with integrity. Dont even go there, we are the underdogs clearly of no value, we just do the donkey work while the higher ups get a fat paycheck at our expense, leaves very bad taste in your mouth.

The Management of the company as a whole, the finance and HR departments and the teams is outrageous. The company really pushes the rediculous motto of 'Do the Right Thing' but it is completely meaningless when it comes to employee wellbeing, compassion and equality. The company gets away with as much as it knows it's able to, always chosing an unintended interpretation of government guidelines and requirements or 'just following Industry Standards' when it comes to employees' rights and entitlements. The upper management makes terrible decisions to bolster themselves rather than help the company as a whole or improve the situation for staff. an example of this being recruitng more and more middle management to oversee eachother rather than increasing the number of staff activelly carrying out tasks. The company makes hollow gestures like Pizza Days and providing fruit bowls for the staff area but acting like these were big things we'd asked for and making a fuss out of 'taking advantage' of what's being offered. The company offers no flexibility for the staff, all office staff are provided with laptops which would enable them to work remotely if required but this is not allowed at, no matter the circumstances, unlss you're upper middle management.

Overall, my experience at this company has been very positive, and I would rate it highly. The strongest aspects are job security, advancement opportunities, and management, all of which exceeded my expectations. Leadership is supportive, and I feel there is a clear path for growth within the organization.

The job culture is also strong, with a collaborative and professional atmosphere, though there is still some room for improvement in inclusivity and engagement.

However, areas like work-life balance and compensation/benefits could be improved. At times, the workload can be demanding, making it difficult to maintain a healthy balance outside of work. Compensation and benefits are fair but could be more competitive to match industry standards.

In summary, this is a great place to build a stable career with supportive management and opportunities for growth, though better pay and improved work-life balance would make it an even better workplace.
