I recently completed work as an administrator at Coleg Cambria. I undertook a qualification  whilst I was there and it helped further my knowledge. 
However as an individual I received no further training as part of my course and was given an unsupportive team leader. The person in question didn't encourage me in the work place and would criticize everything I did. As a trainee member of staff I was made to feel bullied by certain members of staff who would take on all the work load leaving me with relatively no tasks whatsoever to do. I was also made to feel that my skills weren't good enough for their department. Very poor choice of work place and if you speak fluent Welsh I would recommend that you look elsewhere for employment as Coleg Cambria don't allow you to use these skills unless it suits them. I undertook a Diploma whilst working there but beyond that learnt absolutely nothing through my experience of working at Coleg Cambria. Certain members of staff where unprofessional as well in the way they would conduct themselves.

Over the years, I have acquired a vast experience in working with children in both educational settings and family environments and from this decided to pursue a teaching career in childcare and education. Since completing my PGCE qualification and working as a lecturer I have gained valuable experience in teaching in further education and have had the opportunity to develop skills and strategies essential to teaching. For instance, I have developed skills in classroom management and the ability to recognise that each teaching group is different and may need a different style of teaching to other groups. I also have been able to work effectively as part of team and have gained a deeper understanding of assessment of students’ learning and of the importance of differentiation in education. I have been able to work with individual students’ level of learning and to develop ways to further that learning.

It is not a job, it is a college in Wales.
However it is a great place to be. The days vary, however I am in the kitchen on a Thursday and I cook for customers that come into the college restaurant.
On a Friday I wait on in the restaurant, this includes cleaning and laying out the tables ready for service.
Everyday I learn something new, and my 'management' are great people, they are reassuring and helpful.
The 'co-workers' I have are also great people, some less so than others however it is a genuinely great place to be and I love it there.
The hardest part of the job is when it gets busy in the restaurant, whether I'm in the kitchen or in the restaurant. When there is a lot to be done it gets very hectic.
The best part of the job is when everything is done, and I can look around and see what we accomplished as a team, its very satisfying. Especially when we are appreciated by customers.

Iv gather many skills during my time in the salon such as working in a team with both the reception and other therapists. I feel now I have a strong customer serves. This was my favorite part working with client as I'm a friendly and positive person. This job required I looked the part with a fresh face and hair back in a bun. I had to wear the correct college uniform. I also had experience on the reception taking booking and payment. I had to take clients to parts of the salon and make sure they where okay and comfortable. I worked with client doing treatments making sure I did health questionnaires, I had to have strong communicating skills and listening skills. I also cleaned and stocked the salon.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Pension, pay , holidays  and that’s about it 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Workload that ever increases , poor senior management that you never see, poor financial decisions and no thought for the people that are working their hardest for the learners. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic and blame culture with micro managers and no consideration for staff well being. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Emails after emails, always a new thing to add to the workload

Lots of breaks, very little work to do, some friendly staff members

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor micro managing, poor communication,unprofessionallism

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very left wing, some toxic staff members, dodgy comments made by certain staff members in reference to politics 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Dull. Lotds of sitting around, waiting

Good facilities and resources. Staff were friendly but bullied by management who have no idea what it’s like to be in a classroom. Timetable is full of unpaid empty hours so long days for little money. Zero hour contracts. Be expected to work in 3 different locations far from each other and fight to be paid petrol and your time. Great if you live in North Wales but dreadful if you commute. No input from management about what you have to teach . Lots of paperwork 

A typical day at work involved me going to my placement and completing whatever tasks were assigned to me. i learnt how to paint to a near professional standard. Management were very supportive and helpful. I did not work with other employees as i had my own placement. The hardest part of the job was getting up in the morning. The most enjoyable part was the fact that you were always doing something different.

My time at college consists of three days, each day is packed with information that I have to learn. What I find to be the hardest part of the course is when I first learn a piece of information and most enjoyable part of the course is when I fully understand the information given to me. How the course is set, I get a perfect balance that allows me to learn at a suitable pace.
