I work at Engie based in winsford, Engie themselves seem a good company to work and they do make sure you are safe. The team running the contract are basically a working circus, if you are easily frustrated by daily office blunders then this job probably isn't for you, if you are smart and don't want to do much then this is your ideal job as office staff have no idea what you do as part of your day to day job. This is not there fault, they receive little training but most are nice enough personally. There is no stress of overwork, the stress on this contract is just office incompetence but if you can rise above this then this is actually quite a good job. There is a little bit of upper management ego that sometimes drifts down but if you smile and sign on the dotted line every now and then they drift back up into the land of unicorns. (Don't be put off by this as they are not a problem)
Office staff seem to "frightened" of upper management but most of this fear isn't upper managements fault, I think its because they are worried about being found out how terrible they are running the contract. ( again not office staffs fault, lack of resources and help from Engie themselves is doing this)
Pension is utter rubbish so if youre after this don't apply.
The contract I work on has good funding for some things and little for other things compared to other Engie contracts I hear about that isn't bad.
This is just a job and not a career, a career can only be carved out in winsford if you are willing to work take a lead role in the office and join the circus.
Lack of structure and organisation is what is letting things down and probably not people themselves. 
The people are nice enough and so are the people and places where I work. 
Its just really average, depends what you want I suppose. I'd say if you are 50 plus then this is probably a nice little job if your not interested in a career.

Worked at the office in Leeds for 6 month 

my job was working with debt recovery, job role was helping to recoup money from customers who were in arrears with gas/power , when there was work to be done it was enjoyable - although quite boring when there wasn't any.

by far the quietest place I've ever worked, the majority of people seemed to keep to them selves, just didn't seem to be the energy  and laughter you expect in a typical office.

Good support from management and employees when you needed it,seemed to be a workplace with limited opportunities for progression,  a lot of the people who worked there had been in their job role for years. seemed to be the culture of being comfortable where you are.

I would recommend working here to someone as I enjoyed it  but would advise you could be waiting a while to progress.

All though I cant blame management personally, the company showed me a lack of class in the end ,When COVID 19 hit and a lockdown was enforced ,  they only furloughed me for a month and a half.When I requested an extension they didn't have the bottle to respond to me , just outright ignored me. I thought this was nothing short of disgraceful as furloughing someone didn't cost them anything and just left me in a very uncertain situation.

The department who was responsible for the furlough scheme  only responded when it suited them , when they did  eventually respond it was only to  pressure  me to fill out the furlough form very quickly or else they would end my employment immediately, this was very rude and thought it was unprofessional (bearing in mind this was weeks after they ignored my email about an extension to my furlough).

Whilst I appreciate COVID 19 put workplaces in a difficult situation in a short space of time, I always believe employees should be treated with dignity and respect regardless of what situation has happened. i was very disappointed it ended this way,

Worked there for about four months, hours suited me 6am-12.
The place is quite nice nothing really dirty or anything and most of the people are friendly enough, although i did find a few who were not as friendly and some that made you feel you were the lowest of the low.

Instead of someone telling you face to face that you have missed something or you havent done something right they have a complaints procedure and when thats put to you as in oh we have had a complaint about this that or the other 
It just makes you feel belittled it did me especially after putting in the effort and being told you were doing a good job.

It was petty little things like when you cleaned the toilets i was supposed to have left the seats wet and when you mopped the floor you left it too wet and it was really dangerous, I really dont think so.

The thing that really got me was i was supposed to of gone too fast in the car park, what it actually was someone thought my motorbike was too loud and instead of saying it was too loud they hadnt actually seen me speeding but put that down. Anyway no cctv was brought as any evidence i might add and if they had i would of put my hands up to it if i had been speeding, most people i saw went more than 5mph in the car park everyday and i didnt see them getting pulled up for it.
The thing is i found out who complained about me and he tried to talk to me afterwards as if nothing had happened the two faced.

I did get warned by the previous cleaner that they liked to moan about the slightest thing i didnt beleive him but its true.
The atmosphere changed after that episode and i thought i dont need this so found somewhere else.

To be told that one month you were "Such a valuable part to the upkeep of this company and will always be needed for the client we support" and then get told to essentially do one after that month and to only keep on new staff and completely render the long term staff as collateral damage made me realise that the company, especially in Blackpool, is a JOKE.

Ran by a completely incompetent boss, who seemed to have a vendetta with absolutely anyone she laid her eyes on, aside from the ones that was at her beckon call 5 days a week.

Management was mediocre at best and half the time didn't have a clue on how to effectively "manage".

The job itself, was boring to say the least, no motivation to do better, no sense of accomplishment at the end of it, and to then not even be thanked for the years of service I put in, let alone those that was there for 5-10 years made me realise that they had not a single ounce of a care for their employees.

Yes, the job task itself was easy, it wasn't challenging but to say you felt like you had completed a "good days work" was barely ever. The only enjoyable time for the employees I worked with was bank holidays, early finish around christmas and then most fridays as it was the weekend, there was not a single time whilst in the job itself where employees genuinely enjoyed being employed with this company, specifically the one in Blackpool

This company took over the maintenance contract I was on recently. They made a complete lash-up of the TUPE process, losing our personal information on two separate occasions. We have seen nothing of the higher level management, and the area manager seems to be avoiding any contact with his employees at all. Work-load has increased on the existing staff, despite additional staff being taken on to ease the workload. So far, in 4 months, we have had five employees signed-off work with work-related-stress on different occasions, with no follow-up from occupational health and no concern being shown by line managers. There seems to be a culture of intimidation, bullying and disinformation from line and upper management. I gave my notice recently with this company, I have received two emails asking me to fill in an on-line questionnaire as to my reasons for leaving and my satisfaction with thw company, these questionnaires are on the Engie portal, which I cannot access as they have not given me a log-in code for this. On my final week I received a rather intimidating “so you’re leaving, don’t disclose any company details or we’ll take further proceedings” letter. On my last day, they kept me working up to the last second of my contracted hours without even so much as a handshake and a “thank you for all you’ve done” from line management or above. 
 So, in all, my experience working for Engie has been a thoroughly unpleasant one, and I would not recommend working for these to anyone. Best avoided.

I walked into some historical very bad feeling between existing staff which meant that, rather often, we would be sitting working for eight hours a day with very little being said. It felt more like a concentration camp at times. That, coupled with the jaw-dropping self-importance and nastiness of certain members of staff (who also though nothing of having stand-up screaming arguments while customers were on the phone) made for a very uncomfortable place to work.

The department I was based in was very poorly supported. The upper management seem to think lip service is the order of the day; this lets them think they are doing a sterling job when in fact every member of staff working underneath them is looking for a way out. In my less than two years there, five people left as soon as they could.

It's very hard to take ones' job seriously when you have to work with a territorial, self-admitted man-hater and a blatant racist. The best thing I ever did was leave this job. If you are ever offered a job here, think very very carefully before accepting it.

Even festivals like Christmas are frowned upon. No trees, no music, no decorations. Avoid avoid avoid.

If you would like no idea of the job role you’re going Into, along with terrible training then this is probably the job for you. Management have no consideration for any members of the team, all feedback from training was negative and you were never given any positive feedback even if you were doing well. There was nothing in my contract about a 6 week probation period  where I will sit an exam at the end of it which will determine whether I will be kept on or not.  Each week you’re reminded that you’re not safe in the job you’re in, which consisted of sarcastic and nasty remarks from management. I left here on my own accord as it isn’t the job described to me, I was expecting something way more customer service based but it is repetitive boring admin work which will bore you to death and I left my perfectly okay job for this thinking it was a nice and secure position,which is a massive regret as I had the worst experience ever within this company and done nothing but cry every week with the stress and pressure they put onto you. Oh not to mention they mark you incorrectly for not following working practices when they don’t actually have any.

I am quite senior director level and been with Engie and previously Cofely for over 7 years. In the last 2 years since Engie rebrand the company is going severely down the pan! The targets for profit are pushed hard it's all about keeping France happy! You don't get good direction from above at my level then it will all roll downhill. I am looking to move as recently they have sacked numerous people for no real fault of their own apart from the face did not fit anymore! 
Lean 18 is a cost cutting plan which is leaving people scared for their jobs loads are being put at risk everyday due to the greed of the company. This year's financial target is a joke way over what can be achieved. We are not winning many good contracts and when we do they cut them to the bone so much it's painful to run them. Profit profit profit!! The company's FD and the senior exec team are all obnoxious people and are just lining their pockets while they can. The bubble will burst soon, pay and t&cs are pathetic and if you try and change them the amount of governance in place to get it done can take 2 years!! 
Future is not bright do yourself a favour look elsewhere!!

In the company where I am working, before any work to commence, on the site is created a meeting where take place an induction of the team. These include discussion about future problems and dangerous situations which can be met on site by the team.
	After practicing this  job  I managed to gain very good skills in building containment structure using cable tray, basket, ladder tray, metal and plastic trunking, metal and plastic conduit, also a high range of accessories like angle connectors, clamps, fixing hooks, brackets. Also I have practical and theoretical knowledge in installation in first fixing for a high variety of cables,  install CCU boards and terminate different types of cables like SWA, FP200,Data,BT Master, Micro tube for Virgin, PVC cable all types and sizes in second fixing work. Domestic electrical repairs and installations, working from diagrams and drawings, keep the workplace safe and clean.
One of the most enjoyable part of the job it was when I learned something new.
