The whole building is covered by cctv and you are observed throughout the day all day by obnoxious managers. You are not appreciated at all, you are just a number. The toilet facilities are disgusting, general traffic will not pay for a cleaner so they make trainspotting toilets look clean. If you complain about the working conditions, you will be targeted by managers. One female employee has experienced one of the managers waiting outside the toilet cubicle to make sure she wasn't taking too long in there. One employee wasn't able to take his mother to hospital for cancer treatment because it was at too short notice. Oh I almost forgot about the rats all over the warehouse and the disgusting air-conditioning unit leaking stagnant water into the warehouse. Employees with 10+ years service are still on minimum wage!! Basically if you are a yes man, brown noser or complete neanderthal then this is the job for you. Don't expect any flexibility if you have kids because there is none. I thought euro car parts was bad but this is tops them all. Stay well clear, you'd be better off on the dole then getting a job here. 

get in to work at 8.30 am. remove all internal picks from printer, pick them and book on to system so internal transfer paperwork prints off which go in the boxes with the parts to the correct branches. on average we had 14 delivery's every day which had to be unloaded and signed for by me and checked off via invoices and then booked in on the computer system which would print off a put away sheet for me then to put away in there locations. any discrepancies with the orders then I had to call the supplier and sort it out. also picking products for the drivers to deliver parts to all our customers around the surrounding areas. what I had learnt working here is that you never know everything. All my co-workers/management were all experienced staff so any issues would get sorted that day. the hardest part was working in freezing conditions as the warehouse was a bakery originally and driving to and from work was great as i lived 20 miles away at the time.

Working here I had no support or training for the job and it made my mental health deteriorate. The management are pointless and couldn’t run a market stall. you are also watched on cameras 24/7 and understaffed and over worked. Basically all the staff are wanting new jobs and don’t want to be there. The staff turnover is very bad, I seen around 5 come and go in the space of a month. I’ve seen people get bullied until they quit this includes a vulnerable adult. The toilets and canteen are disgusting. Drivers very often go without lunch breaks and are constantly moaning about working conditions. I’m not saying this as as disgruntled ex employee but if you prefer your sanity and want career progression don’t work here, but if you want to feel like your in jail please go ahead.

I worked here myself for a while. Oddest place I’ve ever worked, always felt you were being talked about behind your back and witnessed others actually being talked about behind their backs. Dreadful place and complete disrespectful colleagues that think they run the show. I actually found management to be alright with me personally and the issue I had was with colleagues and customers. Customers always trying to rip you off on the road when taking parts to them. Whether that was with dodgy notes or trying it on with the parts they were given. They were truly a nuisance! To top that an absolute nut job at work that thought they knew everything caused issues within the workplace and many colleagues were not happy about them. Always had a comment to make and trying to put people down.

They promise
You world during interview and then drop everything on you like a bonb. For
One individual the workload is hugely excessive and everything is seemed a priority. You get no support from the manager yet they complain when things are left at the end of the day. Asked for help but was told the warehouse is my job and to get on with it. Informed them of the impact the lack of support was having on my mental health and they changed towards me, often ignoring me completely. Don’t work for this company. It’s not worth the hassle. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The team at branch. Other than that not a good place to work. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Area managers, one didn’t want to be there or do anything. The other sits behind his desk been a keyboard warrior. Bully tactics and constant threats of disciplinary action or dismissal 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Run on a shoe string. Won’t even fix lights to assist warehouse team. No heating. No work life balance. No employee perks to even stay at the company. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sat at desk only answering calls. Not a manager. Your a telesales who does a bit of admin. No autonomy

Manager is ok if your face fits but it can be tough if it doesn't. Very catty and clicky in the warehouse & drivers,this was led by a right see you next tuesday who has since left but he made it toxic and some of it is still there, your not in your van and they are all calling you behind your back.
The company are ok, give the basic minimum and expect blood in return, its all about teamwork ...until the team member needs something. Pays min wage and a very high turnover of drivers for obvious reasons, they take anybody on so if your desperate its a start then like all the rest of them you start looking for something else.

The staff and management are great at GT, although working with the company is not good for long periods of time. The work is repetitive no matter which part of the company you work for. The pay is poor, and on most of the jobs you get with GT you have to work a day on weekend as well as your normal working week. Its very much a pyramid company, if you’re in the warehouse you’re getting all the rubbish from above. The lower management do all they can to help, but they’re in the same situation as yourself. Great staff from the location I worked but the company itself is not good to work for. 

fact paced workplace but a good place to work. management are very fair but do expect the work to be done. working hours are the same as the majority of companies in this sector. I have enjoyed working at General Traffic and all my colleagues, it is a good company to work for and they do treat staff members well. some people have left bad reviews about GT. I cant help but feel these people did not pull their weight and were held to task for it. a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.


Will expect you to graft twice as hard as other employees that have been there for years and pay you less on your hourly rate than everyone else, will pay you short on your monthly salary and make you wait until following month to get the money your missing, you can never get holidays either when you want them and the main manager in the Kidsgrove branch is a bully and try to force you into doing jobs that are not in your contract and that you don't want to do, AVOID this place
