The owner is fantastic but unfortunately he has the worst management working underneath him who don't give a s**t about you and just want you to work till you end up in hospital cause of exhaustion. 

You sign a contract your happy with, but are forced to work all day 7 days a week and travel out your way otherwise they treat you like dirt and cause so much unnecessary stress to force you out the door.

You are categorised to someone who's useful working till your dead or not useful just wanting to work your contract hours in your base shop. 

The red carpet is rolled out for people that live to work and you could probably murder someone and still keep your job. But if you work to live and do something so minor like have a cash difference then your up for disciplinary.

And if you want a weekend off cause you have plans then boy your in the back books. Your not even allowed 1 weekend off a month. 

So if you have a life or require support while at work stay well clear. If you can work 15 hours a day 7 days a week your treated like royalty and can literally do anything and your have a job for life.

My normal day at this job was to take bets from customers put them through the till and translate the bets, take the money for the bet and give correct change if any was required. As i became Trainee duty manager I was to open the shop and set up the display of papers, carry on normal day to day business of the shop and then do end of day trading of the shop and then shut up of an evening. I enjoyed working at this company and got on very well with all my collegues, as the shifts were quite long and you would usually be working with someone for a long period of time this was very important to be able to communicate and get on well with fellow co-workers. The toughest part of the job would proberbly be when we was at our busiest and keeping and eye out for con men. I would say the most enjoyable part of the job for me was working with members of the public and also trying out the running of my own shop at times.

A day starts with daily responsibilty of keeping up-to-date Advertising and Marketing. Because of high competition on high street it become very vital to keep an eye on Upcoming or Ongoing Promotion brought by Competitior to maximize the market share.
Working for Compnay has certainly given me wealth of Knowledge to perform KPI's and business Metrics. 

A huge customer interaction take place through out the day with New and existing customer makes a very fun loving atomosphere where throught out the day and come across all different type of customers.

Though company does provide us with Flexibilty of working shifts and organized hours which is an added benefit but As the Hours are long, a typical 13 hours shift which does make me exhaust by end of the day and sometime make it a bit diffiuclt to balance between personal and Professional Life.

Jennings are full of promises but they are greedy greedy people. They offer “single manning” supplement of £2 extra per hour, but only if you work the entire shop hours by yourself. Not if you’ve worked your entire shift alone. Everything they promise is a bag of lies with loop holes beyond loop holes that aren’t explained to you when they tell you about all the wonderful things they’ll offer. 

You are constantly working late nights on your own with an open counter. They have a “Staff Guard” system in place for your safety that takes 30 seconds to ring through and invites a security member to look through a singular camera and speak through a speaker to the shop. Indiscreet if you are ever faced with a difficult situation. 

Works to the law to the letter and gives you absolutely nothing. 

Not allowed to even look at your phone even if your shop is empty. 

Jenningsbet is a bookmakers off course and I have learned very fast that I can fulfil my full potential and I didn't realise what I can be capable of. It is a fast pace cash handling involving dealing with the general public and giving a very good customer service. The hardest part of the job I would say is dealing with customers who give you greif. however with the end of day figures and the accounting side of things. that is really what i never realised what i can be capable of.

The best part of your job is when you open up a shop of a morning and the feeling of making it ready for your day ahead of you. My co-workers are very good to get along with and its all about what makes a team. You work for one another.

-Job is very easy, but is not worth it for the pay and the stress.
-Work late/long hours. Sometimes 14 hour shifts back to back.
-Single man shops which require two people.
-Management always side with the customer.
-Management are rude and unprofessional. Quote from an AREA Manager "We can p*** over you if we want".
-Management forget when you do them a favour, but remember when you don't.
-CEO was good though.
-Salary was poor. Applied for a role for £11 an hour. Company would only give £8; stated not enough experience even though I was fulfilling all the requirements of the job role and more. Had been in a similar role for 2 year prior.
-Customers are dangerous. Violent, rude and smell.

The job itself is not bad at all. it's a combination of poor management within a family run company poor customer relations skills and a real lack of industry knowledge.

 Day to day you can expect to be doing meaningless tasks for long hours just to be insulted at every turn be it by customers staff or the overlords in the main office 

Expect to be kept out of the loop with key information while reporting every last detail detail.

Training is next to non existent unless you have a good manager pay is comparably poor to other positions with the same responsibility 

The only real upside to this job is the hours are almost unlimited so if you can get up and grind out 12/16 hours a day 7 days a week at minimum wage this is the job for you.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I can't actually think of anything. Some of the staff were nice. 
The customers were nice (some of them)

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The hours, the staff. 
Sitting alone at night on your own waiting to get robbed as your not allowed the mag lock on. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible. Back biting about everyonevelse

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Opening up, counting the contents of the safe. Making sure the marketing is up to date.  Put papers up. Open shop. Close down at the end of business. Make sure monies are correct. Do figures. Lock up.

I really do love the job and company as a whole (for now), nothing bad to say but granted I have just started. The managers in my shop are so helpful and lovely they help me as much as they can, the trainee manager is a doll. She’s really patient and kind. I’ve just turned 18 and have no experience in the industry and know little about sports. And the managers do their best to help me and I appreciate them so much. The customers are so lovely aswell, there’s a lot of frequent customers who have built relations with the other memebers or staff and to witness the bond created between customer and member of staff is oh so fascinating and cute.

I started off as a cashier at the age of 18 moved up the ranks fairly quick as that is what i wanted to do and was possibly the youngest manager at the age of 20. But my career seem to of stopped at that point, no moving up the ranks once reached manager level. Having been branch Manager for 7 years i am looking for a new challenge. The job itself is not so much based on salary but the opportunity for career options is my failure at fulfilling my happiness at the company. I believe that is due to the size of the hierarchy within the workplace.
I do enjoy the job as it can be easy and relaxing, i love customer related work. The hours can be unsociable and long days too.
