I was contacted by a chap in the Edinburgh office who told me he had a job as an assistant furniture maker going. I was not provided any additional training for this role and had to provide my own PPE. 

On day one at the placement I was told that all the joiners had been paid off and that I would be working as a warehouse assistant. I am the only member of staff at the placement company who does not have a forklift licence and I am expected somehow to be able to do the same level of work as the guys who are fully forklift trained. I was never informed that I would be working in an environment that is in such close proximity to a FLT where I could be run over at any moment.

I was initially receiving emails every week to confirm my shift patterns but this stopped after around 3 weeks. I have no stability or security in my work. 

Fast forward a few weeks and I'm handed a final written warning for breaching H&S protocols that I received no training or guidance on from Search or the company I was placed with. When this was explained to the manager at the placement company he simply rolled his eyes. 

When I contacted the guy at Search informing him that I was unsatisfied with the level of service I had received he basically told me that as long as I was in a placement through Search it wasn't his problem. 

I can not stress enough how much you should avoid Search Industrial Edinburgh office. They are clueless and have absolutely zero respect for the people who's livelihoods they play with. 

Avoid, for the sake of your health and well being. 

I can not and will not ever recommend Search Industrial to anyone and I remain dubious regarding the rest of the organisation.

Search takes the time during the registration process to really get to know a candidate. This is not a rush job to just get the legal documents. It’s about finding out what the candidates would like to do work wise, where would suit them best and the type of roles they would be interested in. This helps build a better picture of the types of roles candidates want to hear about .

I have always found the speed of finding the placements to be very quick with the roles coming in daily with a number of different interesting opportunities, working with some of the most noted company’s based in Manchester. It can be a real foot in the door.

When ever there is a candidate question while on placement it is resolved fast and effect with the client and the Consultant having a strong working relationship. All of the consultants when called are friendly and approachable, they really do try their best to get everything done on the first call. Sometimes they are not able to but keep you informed and up to date when they say that they will. They are also very flexible and understanding.

Having worked for some of the larger and more well known agents before I have often felt unthought-of and forgotten about Search take the time and also care. It’s the simple things like asking how a weekend was or a trip away was. Any questions around pay are dealt with in a flash, the quality of the placements and jobs are also excellent.

Search have excellent relationships with leading employers, and when you are looking for permanent work Search take the time to get to know their client so the interview preparation is priceless and really gives you a heads up and help to succeed at the most vital stage.

Very good and friendly staff, very persistant and very good workers there.
Some people and even I had a little bit of problems , I was asking myself if this is and will be worth it.All those roads to the angecy and back home,some people were complaining about not being in only one place , well guess what , ever heard of comunication ?? everything that I said at Search was taking in a serious manner and it was discused and very well aborded and I like that , being in the center for your own safty , happiness and good.If you don't comunicate how should the agents know what is in your mind ? just saying to yourself 'i don't think they will/they are not listening' - you are lying yourself and sooner or later you will realise if you still work with Search.very nice people where they send you , friendly and etc. ,

For not having advanced studies and other stuffs , what do you really want more ? srsly , if you want more money and an easy programme , not lifting or standig up please shut up and go to school and university/college , do something and stop complaining about the staff and the jobs where are they sending you.And if you are a total di.ck you really wait for them to still be nice to you ??haha
I personally find this agency the best , two years ago they won the first place for being the best agency , not that I would be surprised why :)

Glasgow office called me about a job they thought I was suitable for. I  told them I might not be suited as it's permanent and I'll be returning to education. They insisted I went through a phone interview, then offered me a face to face interview. They didn't email the details in time so I called 2 different offices and both said I wasn't on their system. By the time they sent the email it was too late for me to get to the interview and they rescheduled for the next day. At the interview, I again stated I'm returning to full time education and would only be available for a few weeks after the training period and I didn't want to waste the company's time and money by pretending otherwise just so they would hire me. He then said they might consider me for part-time in term time and I told him clearly I didn't want this as I didn't want my education to suffer because I was doing too much. A couple of weeks later I received an email saying I'd been successful and they had me on file for part-time work, but at present there were no shifts available. I called and told them I stated at interview I was not interested in part-time work. The person on the line said 'maybe he thought you'd want part-time work when you go back to college'. So I had to tell them again for a third time, and also in an email so it was in writing. Would never apply again, such a stressful experience, as if trying to find work isn't bad enough!

Working for Search Consultancy has been a generally positive experience. The management team is approachable, kind, and always willing to assist when needed. Communication is clear, and payments are processed accurately and on time, which gives staff confidence and peace of mind.

The role provides opportunities to work in different healthcare settings and gain valuable experience. The workplace culture is professional, and staff are treated with respect.

However, there are areas that could be improved. Many available shifts are located quite far away, which can make travelling time-consuming and costly. In addition, the company still relies on paperwork and manual processes. Introducing a mobile app that allows staff to view availability and book shifts directly would make the process much more efficient and convenient.

Overall, Search Consultancy is a good agency to work for, particularly because of its supportive management team and reliable payment system, but modernising shift booking and improving access to local shifts would enhance the employee experience.

Worked as an LGV 2 driver for a green and white logistics company in Tullos, Aberdeen. Serious concerns were raised with Search over blatant overloading of vehicles, concealment of Hazardous goods loaded on vehicles where they knew the driver didn't have an ADR license and the last straw was being asked to take out a vehicle with brake and lighting defects that had been defected daily for the same defects every day for the previous week or so. Search does not care about driver welfare or safety and is only concerned about profit, I walked out one morning over the issue with the unroadworthy truck after I was assured a few days previously that all the above problems would get sorted out. I have not been paid for the previous days worked before I walked out and the idiot dealing with the contract who works out of the Inverness office thinks he can get away with it because I'm from Aberdeen, how wrong he is! hahah. Had I reviewed the numerous negative reviews (especially about nonpayment of wages when you leave) about Search that are all over the internet I wouldn't have touched them with a barge pole and if you do get paid don't think for one minute that the rate you signed up for is the rate you will receive. Bank on it being about £1 an hour less!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS, You have been warned!

I always looked forward to my shifts at work as the residents are a pleasure to work with, i would love to listen to their stories about when they were younger and what they worked as. Although they have an illness they would always make your day very relaxed and pleasureable! I have learned alot during the 9 years as a care assistant, i have learned that although they do have an illness, they are all still human and should be treated with respect. All of the homes and companies i have worked for have been very good to me, any problems i had i could go to them for advice, if i felt i couldnt do something, i would just go to them for advice on how to do a better job for the residents. The hardest part of the job is when a resident gets really ill and it comes to the end of life care, but it is my job to make them as comfortable as possible in their last moments. Also in situations like this i try to make the family as comfortable as possible aswell throughout their relatives illness. The most enjoyable part of the job is to sit down and chat with all the residents, to listen to music with them, have a sing song and a dance, basically just make their time in the home as happy as possible.

I joined Search 7 years ago and granted my perception was very different to the reality. I had heard some stories about work/life balance and culture being aggressive however what I found was very much to the contrary.

I've worked with Search for 7 years and have enjoyed being promoted many times as well as promoting many others within my team and that's down to a supportive culture that encourages progression and pushing yourself to be the very best. 

The people at Search are really what sets the company aside, I've never felt more supported in any business I've ever worked for and while I work hard and give everything to my job when I'm there I also feel like I'm encouraged to switch off and have a life outside of work. 

It depends what motivates you but if you want to work for a company that will realise and release potential in you, a company that rewards and recognises hard work, a company that genuinely cares about the people on the ground then I would recommend Search every day of the week. 

Be careful not to let others perception or negative responses sway your own opinion. There's generally always a story behind each of these scenarios.

- management and transparency of information was inadequate.

- training was not provided. important tasks and needed information was delayed, and once brought to the attention of higher management blame was redirected on to the new starters by branch management.

- the competition between management was distressing and confusing. both managers communicating different responsibilities and information, and informing myself and possibly others to discard the other which did create a negative and distressing atmosphere. 

- The organisation and communication of tasks was chaotic. There was no sense of importance for tasks and priorities, along with a double standard of productivity between employees. Some were able to sit back and relax whilst others were informed they were not doing enough. 

- The salary was unfair, employees were expected to cover afternoons and evenings without payment, answering phone calls at all hours. How could employees be expected to cover on-call voluntary on the weekends with no notification for no compensation.

This company is a con and needs to be shut down. They pick their favourites and certain rules only apply to certain individuals.They were always threatning to sack me over sick days yet never threatened this or expressed the same rules for other employees.Very unfair, unproffessional and unethical standards potryed by this sham of a company.

If they don't like you for whatever reason they will do anything to fire you. Complete disregard for temp staff in particular as they only want the money they make off you and do not care about you as a person. Unfair dismissials were issued left, right and centre.

Your safety in the workplace is greatly compramised as they do not have CCTV installed in their call centres (Capita) This is a major issue as being a victim of attacks are greatly common (happened to me) and if that bouncer woman does not like you you've had it.You will have to match their disguisting and vile personaliies which is by being arrogant and spiteful. 

For your own mental and physical wellbeing I cannot stress how awful this company is. DO NOT go through with them whatever you do or you'll regret it.
