A typical day at work includes management and staff constantly talking behind each other's backs, constantly picking up after people that stand around chatting not working. Favourites get all the better jobs, whereas if you have opinions, they get rid of you.  Store manager and shop floor manager at the store I was at along with plants manager are all bully managers, 2 of them shout at staff members which I have seen with my own eyes and have also been shouted at and spoken rudely in which nothing was done about it nor did I recieve an apology. It's one rule for them, one rule for everybody else so they get away with everything in that place while the rest suffer. From other reviews, seems to be just as bad at the other stores, if not worse.
Communication is non existent, the hardest part of the job is getting up in the mornings to go to work it's that bad.
The most enjoyable part of the job was going out in the van.
If you leave an honest and genuine review; you’re told they’re concerned about your mental health and well being and escorted out of the building.
Most people who were here when I started have now gone, with those that are left looking for other jobs, and new staff leaving within 1-3 months of starting and mostly youngsters are getting hired now, so save yourself the trouble and apply for a different job other than here.

the managers in the restaurant are literally the worst people. they chat the most dirt behind everyone’s backs. you can not tell them anything without it being spread round the workplace. they shout at you all the time especially when you’re in the kitchen area. they are massive hypocrites. they promise you things they can not provide. no one is treated fairly, the work “rota” is not distributed fairly and there are people who are given the same “good” jobs everyday where as others are stuck on the same “bad” jobs everyday. there is never enough staff because people join and just leave due to how poor it is. i wouldn’t recommend working here at all. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Loved the regular customers , when organised properly totally loved front off house

High expections 
Running staff into the ground

Terrible main management 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Was great until cafe manager left then constant arguments between management and supervisors , unprofessional, over worked and understaffed

i was absolutely miserable. there was no teamwork, no work/life balance, minimal training and leadership seemed to be lacking. we never left work on time but didn't get paid past 5:30. breaks were often cut short and other co-workers would have higher pay for the same job at the same age. i used to cry in the bathroom because of stress. on the upside, free scones (sometimes)  and i was offered a job at interview.

Management are awful when I worked here and really need to change something. They made people supervisor for no reason,
Just because they liked them and turned up. Only reason I stayed so long is cause of a few co workers…. So busy all the time and just let people in when there are no tables. Stressful and unfulfilling work 

Lovely people.  But Restaurant manager is awful. So unprofessional. They try and push you out.  Team are super lovely the owners are lovely. 
Just a shame about the restaurant management and garden centre management. 

But nice food they served. 

Management is corrupt. Poor working environment. No support for mental health. Favourites get away with things if your opinionated you get the boot. Dont work here. They pay badly over work you and get nothing from the company for hard work except for higher expectations and moaned at. 

this place has terrible management, who so obviously have favourites and give them the better jobs. it is so unbelievably painfully boring, with everyone getting different levels of pay for doing the same job. 0/10

Completely broke me. Management is the absolute worst, only stuck it out due to my work colleagues. Owners need to look at the management to understand why staff turnover is so high and why jobs vacancies can't be filled. Toxic work environment 

Unpleasant customers, awful pay, poor working culture/ environment. Would recommend for work experience and training. However extremely unpleasant and unrewarding.
