If you're the kind of person that goes to work because you want to work, and you put effort in, then you get the overtime and advancement opportunities that you deserve.
Management are fair with you, if you are fair with them. You are not overworked, but if you do not show initiative during quieter times, they will find things for you to do.
Holidays recently increased to 25 days, plus Bank Holidays, which is a nice bonus.

The staff all get along well, even with management. This is a nice change from many other workplaces, where the workforce seems divided into groups of people who don't get on. Even most customers that you deal with on a day-to-day basis are just brilliant once you build a relationship with them.

Wages are reliably paid on the last Friday of every month. The rates are fair for the roles undertaken, and the overtime rate at 1.5x for over 40hrs makes a noticeable difference, especially during busy times in the Summer months. The company pays a generous percentage in to the pension fund too, which is a nice touch.

My main work was to construct fence panels , this involved getting raw materials and  constructing a fence panel from nothing,  this gave me a job satisfaction as i had constructed something from nothing .

my other  duties included general housekeeping within the factory , as i am  a fork lift licence holder within thorncliffe building merchants, i was able  to drive the fork lift  trucks.
 i was tasked to ensure deliveries were offloaded correctly when required  ,i also pride my self on conducting any task  i was given to the best of my abuility ensuring safe work practice at all times

You get the workload of 3 people because they take to much work on, not allowed to refuse overtime, training and advancement is a joke, equipment is pretty new but not well maintained, management play favourites and make it obvious, no work life balance, health and safety is non existent 95% of the time, senior management look down on you, toxic work environment that would have a large portion of staff jobless if HR heard and did their job.

All staff are unfairly treated and the company do not follow processes. Booked annual leave at the point of induction for there to be no record and classed as AWOL. When unwell with a declared health condition and seriously ill family member this will be used against you to terminate co tract of employment. Other staff have damaged property with intent and with neglect and have recounting sick days but that’s not noticed if you are pals with the management.  

I worked for this company for 7 years, only leaving due to a change in personal circumstances.  In my time there I worked as part of a very friendly team, I was supported in gaining qualifications relevant to my role, they were nothing other than accommodating and understanding when looking to achieve a working home life balance. I wouldn't hesitate applying for a role here in the future 

Yes admittedly its a good place to work and there are some very good points about the place but unfortunately as everywhere there are a few bad apples that spoil it and admittedly the biggest flaw this place has is the management not all there are some really good ones and the communication throughout its appalling 

Skip driving isn’t difficult, some of the locations are frustrating but as a driver it’s your decision to do the job or not, they let you crack on and there isn’t any pressure from managers to hit numbers you just do the job and it takes as long as it takes. You have to do overtime in the summer it’s not optional, can be a frustrating job but it’s probably better then most other jobs 

This place is a joke, they get you to stand at a counter with no training, no PPE to do your job you have to buy all of your own PPE, and you literally just stand on your feet all day, when you use your initiative to go do something, the boss who is an absolute idiot by the way tells you Otto keep busy and to just stand behind the counter instead.

It’s almost like the office staff are working against the drivers because every conversation is a battle and your spoken to like trash 
Most of the trucks are trash as well do yourself a favour work elsewhere 

If you are looking to work part of a small team in a wherehouse and willing to do a minimum of 40hrs a week then this would be the ideal place for anyone who is wanting to learn about the concrete side of the landscaping business.
