Overall reviews at Pertemps Network Group

Warehouse Worker | Barnsley | 11 Mar 2019
Inconsistent Working Hours
The hours were inconsistent. The expectations of pick rates, at the detriment to health & safety, were imbalanced. Nevertheless, the majority of staff were friendly.
ProsGood canteen service.
ConsZero contract hours, irregular weekly hours.
Warehouse Worker | Barnsley | 19 Feb 2014
works fairly easy, lots of good lads work there, just badly managed
picking food and drink for marks and spencers using an head set, 15 min break after 2 hours, then after another 2 hours an half hour break. if you work longer than 8 hours you get another 15 mins cold environment, lots of walking. big contrast between the agency and the company men, they get paid more but do mimium work, where as the agency do most of the work and carry the company. Gist seems to be run by the agency not the actual managers. hardest part is unsociable hours and you pick up colds easily. lots of decent people to talk to and the work is alright when its well organised
Prosdecent amount of breaks and an easy job/ mostly relaxed environment
Conscold, not enough hours and badly organised
Warehouse Worker | Barnsley | 12 Mar 2019
other workers are great and helpfull
They can be good employers if they respected staff better , and use any excuse to not pay the right pay and stop bonus , if they can, they expect you to do excessive long hours
Prospays good

Dont look after temps
You work as and when needed on a 0 hour contract could be as little as 6hrs per week not good for confidence if your face fits your ok, culture your only a temp can replace you tomorrow over all not a good experience would think twice should I ever be offered work again with them.
Packer | Barnsley | 18 Sep 2018
Not very good company to work for.
Expect too much of you. Unsafe work environment. Dolly wheels do not move. People chuck them about all over. Trays stacked crooked and food inside smashed. Management doesn’t care as long as you meet unrealistic pick rate. Should be on safety not pick rate.
ProsFree lunches for overtime
ConsPoor picking system

Productive workplace
Timekeeping is essential. Picking up to 1000 items per shift. Learning how to make picking faster with certain routs along the factory. this was at Carlton industrial estate for M&S
Order Picker | Barnsley | 23 Dec 2016
A nice place to work.
I worked in picking for a month. That was pulling a pallet and putting items on it, the items were up to 65kg. I then moved on to wrapping pallets. I stacked items on a pallet and then would wrap it with shrink wrap. I then went on to ‘closing labels’, which was using an electronic gun to scan labels. So taking 20 labels and scanning all the information on to one single label. The employer was nice and would help you if you were having a problem.

Don't work here unless you have no other option or need quick money. Your average weekly wage will be around 200 a week. There is no structure to the warehouse. Most days you will not get a full shift apart from a 3 month period at Christmas time. To conclude do not go to gist until you are really desperate.
Order Picker | Barnsley | 8 Feb 2019
not very happy management on site at Giist are great people , but pertemps do not care about anything but the job and do not care about its staff , and have no problem at losing any bonus you may have earned in the least
ConsLong hours once you there you stop till end
