Enjoyable place to work
A typical day at work saw us taking referrals from Job Centre Plus for the work programme, we used to take them for other contracts too, community work placement, flexible support fund and the Nu-Traxx contract, but those all ended recently. We would also send out clients certificates for functional skill qualifications that they would have done in one of our centres as well as booking their tests and registering them for the relevant qualification through City & Guilds' Walled Garden. I have learned a lot of skills in the three and a half years I have been here, administration, customer service and a grasp of the benefit system to name but a few. My co-workers were all from the same background as myself, we were all once on Pertemps' work programme and gained employment through finding the vacancies through our respective employment coaches. I found the hardest part of the job was the lack of support given to us as employees from Pertemps' higher management. The most enjoyable part of the job was changing peoples lives who were in a position I was once in.
