Enjoyable, friendly.
I had some amazing contracts working for Pertemps. Pay rate was reasonable for the post. I hope to find work with Pertemps again. There recruitment staff are very friendly and helpful and work hard to find you the right post to match your skills.

As a temporary employer the work was not available for me.
The job sector that Pertemps had for me was restricted. Contact with the office was limited and was not productive. Miscommunication and lack of understanding resulted in the two parties parting.
Prostemporary work can give good work experince.
Conswork can be variable and sparse.

Lots of temp work available
When I am working I really enjoy my work as a temporary receptionist. I have learnt what it is like working in a sales atmosphere. The management has been very good and you are not always treated love me a temp. The hardest part of the job is boredom because being a temp you inly get to do the basics of the job and sometimes vthere is not enough job content. Although once you are in a perm job you would become involved in the general office/reception work which would be better. The most enjoyable part of the jobs is dressing up smartly and meeting and greeting the public and staff and never quite knowing how the day will pan out.
ProsBeing paid
ConsNot knowing when you are next going to get some work

Since starting work at Pertemps I have learnt how to work productively in a busy environment, The staff that work in the office are lovely and try to help out as much as they can. The hardest part of the job is the long days but the most enjoyable part of the job is finding people work makes you feel good about yourself

Pertemps Highly Unsatisfying
Although this agency provided constant work, it was more often than not jobs which had nothing to do with the job description and job title. Very important positions were badly described, and were high security and a risk to the employee, and an extremely low rate of pay. When trying to negotiate with the agency about these issues, they were not forthcoming. Having been called to Jury Service, and having to turn down an assignment, the agency then refused to complete a loss of earnings certificate. This has resulted in 2 weeks loss of earnings and cancelling my contract with Pertemps.
Prosconstant work
Consbad reletions and management

Very fair company to work for
I have had many work experiences through pertemps over the last few years, and found them to be very fair. They have helped me through bad times, by getting me work.

Busy and enjoyable work place
A typical day for me would include, dealing with any enquiries whether this be over the telephone, through email or face to face. I would also be loading applicants on to our system, filing application cards and raising timesheets. At the end of the week I would send out contracts to all our new starters. During my time working with Pertemps I have learned many things, including: how to scan documents, how to fax documents, how to write a formal business-like email, etc. When I first started my job I was inexperienced and was taken on as a Christmas temporary worker, however due to hard work and learning things fast they kept me on and I have now been working for over 2 years as an administration/receptionist. My co-workers have helped my massively with improving all of the skills I have acquired. I would say the hardest part of my job would be when the morning rush occurs and we have over 30+ people in reception and only 2 people dealing with the enquiries so it can get difficult at times. The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting new and different people each day and helping them to find a job that's perfect for them.

Working for Pertemps was a positive experience. The work was varied and rewarding. It provided me with new skills.
I began work at either 8am or 9am depending upon the shift I was required to cover. I was employed on the front line reception desk at the head office and also at a smaller location. I would meet and greet visitors to the company and carried out a variety of administration tasks. I was also responsible for dealing with all incoming and outgoing post and handling telephone calls via the switchboard. At head office I came into contact with management figures and executives who were very helpful. My co-workers were very supportive and were encouraging. I found many aspects of the work hard particularly because I hadn't been in work for a long period prior to my appointment. I enjoyed working as part of a small team at head office and the varied administration tasks.
ProsFriendly working conditions
Consmostly positive
