Emphasis on team work.
Working as a loader involved getting up extra early, team work required everyone to get on, pull together and make the best of getting the the job done. Our driver/ leader was tough on us to get things done as quickly and efficiently as possible with everyone learning the maps. Road sweeping not as early and doing the work more at your own pace, which I enjoy. Working outdoors can be difficult but OK once you get into the rhythm, and using initiative. Solo work, but meeting in the morning before work begins and making the best of getting on with each other, working with truck drivers to load the waste involves short exchanges, which is the hardest part to show your a team player. The management team leaving us to get the job done is based on trust as they do not see us day to day other than us coming to the depot to book holidays, or to sign forms off. Overall, an experience I will never forget.
