Overall reviews at Thermo Fisher Scientific
A company devoid of leadership
Thermofisher is a company to avoid. High staff turnover is driven by low salaries and highly underqualified managers who continually sacrifice the care and well being of their staff for short term targetbattainment.
It is a company to avoid
ConsNot a good place to work
Company Too Large to Notice Individual input - Frustrating
Unfortunately, this company is so large that they have lost sight of the requirements to run a progressive company - investments are made in people but their hands are tied when it comes to taking things forward.
Concentration to my personal view on wrong elements of the business.
ProsNice Offices & Nice People
ConsView of the business not taken seriously enough

technical support engineer
I would answer email from engineers aroud the globe.I would contact customers about different issues depending where they were because of time zones. I would go to the lab and start the tech support instruments up and take measurments for different projects i might be doing.Attend meetings regarding customer problems with other departments and arrange more meetings if required.Speak to other members of the team to gather information that maybe i was not awere of. I would speak to the shop floor regulary to see if any procedures had changed causing failures in the field. The hardest part of the job was going to customer sites when there were problems with instrumentations and they were not happy with thermofisher. The best part of the job was fixing the problem and the customer patting me on the back with a smile then reporting this back to my manager.
Prostraveling around the world
Conslong hours some days

Fast paced manufacturing environment.
A typical day at work includes managing a team of 22 people, working in a manufacturing environment.
I am qualified to train, coach and teach continuous improvement methodology by analyzing data using different data analysis tools, identifying root cause and implementing solutions.
I work with a divers team will varied skill sets, implementing training structures and creating standard operating procedures (SOP)
I use continuous improvement on a daily basis to identify issues and solutions.
Best place I’ve worked so far
Really friendly team at the Loughborough site, everyone will say hello to you and try help you out if you ask for help.
Management have your back and really look out for their staff.
During COVID they made sure we were kept really safe. Maybe a bit OTT at times but it was nice that they put in the extra efforts.
Told us when the company was doing well and gave us recognition.
Good shift patterns, alternating between 8:30-4:30 and 9:15-5:15 with a 45 minute lunch break.
Very collaborative with many different teams, which is great and everyone gets to know everyone, so it’s a very friendly environment.
A few people to get away without pulling their weight but I’ve found this to be the case everywhere, so can be frustrating when you work hard and others don’t, but when you work hard it is recognised.
Good progression if you put the effort in and ask for the opportunity, there is a lot of support from management to help you progress.
The role does get a bit same-y, so progression would be needed to not feel bored, but the customers are for the most part lovely, and the account managers are very supportive.
Don’t have to think about work outside of work which is great, and I’m the customer service department logging off time is logging off time. There is zero pressure or expectation to work longer, but there is opportunities for overtime if you want it.
Very sad to be leaving, only leaving the company due to relocation, otherwise it would be a company for life I think.
ProsProgression, friendly, supportive, not very stressful, good working hours
ConsRole can be a little boring
My role at thermo fisher scientific was as a field sales account manager, I thoroughly enjoyed this challenging position and felt that there were good prospects to develop your career.

Good place to work witrh friendly staff looking to advance employees within the company. Continuously changing to compete with competitors and find new avenues of revenues.
Great job in a medium sized team
I worked with an excellent team who were always willing to teach.
High job satisfaction
Good management who are experienced
Excellent team work from logistics and factory employees.
Some positives and some negatives
If you work in a good area with a good lead, then you will do well as long as you put the work in. However, it was my experience that it was very difficult to get the training I needed to even succeed in the position I was hired for. Ultimately, the work experience became very uncomfortable and I had to put in my notice for the position.
The pay was fine, the work atmosphere toxic
Work-life balance at Thermo Fisher Scientific is terrible. They could careless about your personal life and the fact that you have raise a family. They took away 3 shifts and made it 12 hr shifts. Not to mention the mandatory overtime for months even years at a time without a break.
the benefits and pay
They provide good pay and benefits and great learning opportunities within the site and company to advance and or move on to knew roles with in the company.
Prospay and benefits
Conswork life balance and moral
prettige werkomgeving met tafeltennis
Leiding is niet om over naar huis te schrijven, er wordt nogal eens gewisseld en te snel ondoordacht besloten om iets te doen waar later op terug wordt gekomen

Very challenging and rewarding company to work for.
Opportunities to partner with a variety of people across functional lines. Teamwork and collaboration is an component for working with global teams. Partnering with multiple teams was a great experience
Bad Manager, Job duties not clear
Management were really not clear about my duties, pay is bad and he kept in negotiating rate.
Micro Management, Underestimating your abilities and experience
I prefer not to comment at this time
No comment. I would definitely work here again. Great pay and 401k match. Remote work possible. Travel often involved. Overall, a great company to work for.
Ca se discute
Tres bonne entreprise mais l'équipe est à revoir ?????
Not much challenges. Doing the routine jobscope everyday. Not that exciting of a workplace. Advancement in salary and position takes lots of time. Only good thing is they send for courses only for selected few
fast pace. Days flew by
Fast pace. Days flew by. Worked with a diverse group. Overtime always. Learning many tasks and had good opportunity to continue to learn. 4 day required weeks
