I started working 4 days on 4 days off. You work 12 hours for 4 days continuously, then you get rest for 4 days. And you keep going like that. I started off the first week and from the first day, i did some picking (forklift) and packing, getting used to things. The other following days became a bit easier than the previous ones, by avoiding some stress because i got more confidence knowing how to do things in a proper manner, finding less difficulties thereafter. The Logistics Warehouse i worked in, basically more than 90% of the people were polish, even all the agency employers, which was neutral for me, as you can hear polish chit-chat everywhere as i worked back in 2015. I didn't really care. The thing is, as i started working the following third week, i finished my third shift (day) and after i have finished it, i got a message from my employer telling me that there's not enough work. To emphasise this, when i applied on the indeed.co.uk, it said the job was full-time with contract which i quickly disregard it since it was going to be bullocks truth. So the message told me that there was not enough work for me on the fourth day, linking back to my emphasis. This shows that the company is pointless to deal with anything against them and just stay put for the majority of your time. In an instant, you could be not needed anymore since they employ a lot of people in the first place, and take it that you are not needed anymore which is annoying, given the fact that nearly every warehouse acts like that, irrespective of their abilities. The problem with them is, they write false statements in their job application, and they give you way different details in an interview which makes it think that they are never fully reliant. Nevertheless, the people are nice and patient where i work at, always there to help you if you struggle with anything. As always, as you get used to things, you work on your own individually, getting absolute confidence and getting busy, having a more or less occupied time, doing your thing, minding no business. To conclude, if you miss out a day because of not enough work for the next day, you just wait and see what falls next. If they write the same thing to you the next day as well, best solution is that you look for another job or agency that provides some work. The work requires you to work not slowly and not too fast, but in somewhere in the middle, quicker than you except to to save energy for later. In the end, you are an employee or a key worker, whatever. If you keep working, as it will not be easy, both psychologically and physically, in time things will settle in. But who cares. it's agency. you work, then you don't work. The salary is great for such a work.

I've worked two different roles at the same CEVA site in Daventry on Naysmyth, on various shifts and over the 5 months total it's been the most unpleasant working experience i've had to date.

Morning shift as a goods-in receiver is great, but back shift as a ppt loader is awful.

The managers push you and stress you to work faster, they are on your back about abiding by SOP's and "work instructions" which they themselves do not follow at all.

I'm disabled and i'm getting told i'm taking "too f*ing long" to tip a 40ft trailer with wheeled photocopier machines that weight up to and above 100kg, they know of my disability, they knew before hiring me, and instead of complaining about my disability im working safely and quickly to my capacity.

There are so many archaic processes in place at this company that make you question if the board of directors and the upper echolons of management know if they have phased into the 21st century or not. Instead of buying a mobile label gun im walking around with a stack of a4 sticky labels quality checking hundreds of pallets and while being moaned at by my manager who says im taking too f*ing long.

Yeah nah avoid this place unless you're tapped in the head, you love being paid peanuts, being moaned at and sworn at for doing your job correctly and safely, or if for any reason you enjoy double standards out the wazoo that make you question your own sanity.

I've seen a few of the managers using mobile phones while driving various mhe, they don't maintain or enforce social distancing for Covid-19, they don't take you on permanently even if you work flawlessly for the duration of your probation period.

Avoid for your own health and safety, there is no bonus or benefit to working for ceva.

I would strongly recommend carefully considering whether this company is the right environment for you before joining.

During my time here, I found the workplace culture to be extremely draining both physically and mentally. The workload and pressure placed on staff could be excessive at times, particularly on reliable workers who were expected to carry difficult tasks consistently without much support.

One of the most disappointing aspects for me was the lack of support during difficult personal circumstances. At times, I did not feel my wellbeing or family situation was treated with understanding or professionalism, and I also felt that personal matters discussed within management were not handled with confidentially or respectfully.

There also appeared to be inconsistent treatment between employees, with some workers pushed far harder than others as I feel face value is a real thing here. Raising concerns or prioritising family/personal matters often felt discouraged, particularly around overtime and attendance.

In my experience, the working environment became damaging to both my mental and physical wellbeing over time due to the constant pressure, workload, and lack of support. By the end of my employment, I genuinely felt burned out and exhausted.

The one genuinely positive aspect of the job was many of the colleagues on the shop floor, who were hardworking people and helped each other through difficult conditions.

Overall, the role had a significant negative impact on my wellbeing, and ultimately I would not want this to happen to anyone else.

Worked here for several months, a lot of people have been sacked with very short notice particularly around Christmas. Pay is often wrong or not received at all. Team leaders and supervisors put a lot of pressure on those who are more capable and are very lenient to others. They have lost their best staff from being inconsistent with advertised job hours vs what the company wanted. The pay is good, however if you happen to be one of few members of staff that have to pick up after the mistakes that everyone makes, you will be drained after every shift. Some people do not appear to shifts at all and still get paid whilst hard workers have been laid off. Unfortunately they are still hiring for more employees even though theyve laid off people for having too many employees. Some supervisors and team leaders do not move from office or particular areas, therefore staff have no guidance and have to use initiative, which not all workers have. New workers come to the warehouse floor with no knowledge retained from their training and clueless with what they need to do, this ends up in a trained individual having to work with them to make up for the poor quality training. Most of the time there is no gloves which is against health & safety.

I normally load wagons which is something i enjoy and have learnt alot about how to use SAP for loading picking and receipting goods in its not a bad place to work the lads are great its the supervisors and management that suck if we do a good job or brilliant job nothing gets said even just a "good day yesterday lads well done" but nothing, as soon as you do anything you no about it straight away moral has been smashed to pieces at this place it was a new build (project) when we started we all got promised to be on about £8.50ph when we started and get more the more skill you had ie flt drivers on more then someone who can only pick but no its just £7.00ph straight down the line we also got told everyone would no everyone's jobs so you'll never be doing the same job for more than a week lies all management care about is graphs and figures nothing else. Also they enforce over time and ask you on a Thursday what over time your doing the following week and you have to put some down, like any of us no whats going to happen next week if any thing pops up and youve put down for over time the week before they tell you to work round the hours you've said you'll do an putting holidays in you have a better chance of winning the lottery then getting one accepted

Absolute waste of my life
It's like being in school again I'm 28 not 5 years old. The management are clueless and the supervisors are even worst. You start your day with a registration and if you don't answer to your name you don't get paid for the day and always start the morning with bad news so its always the worst way to dtart your day. Get told off for speaking to anyone even if you are doing your job so they expect you do be silent and do your job. That only goes for some people for their favourite people they allow them to do what ever they want. The job it self is good it's all easy work but it's the management / supervisors that make that place impossible to be happy.
A few areas are a really unsafe place to work at and if you hurt your self they try and turn it around on you. So they don't look bad. 
Struggle to get any agency's or any perm staff at all and then wonder why. Maybe the company should look at taking away a few supervisors as many have told me they are the reason for people leaving as for me I was let go off because my probation stated I wasn't allowed a single day off for 3 months and being human I got really sick and had no choice but to take a day off and for that reason my probation was terminated. 
If you want to work in a happy and safe place then thus place isn't it. 


Mostly starting at 4am checking for any outstanding work from previous evening or requested workk from pm shift supervisor. Randomly check paletised orders from 1 item to 1700 items that were picked the previous evening, checking dates sku's and descriptions and quantities match those on the picking order. Break down pallet check and restack and wrap ready for dispatch, rectifying any discrepancies found, makeing detailed reports of any errors found. Morning shift started at 6am, had breifing continued checking, Checked 7% of all orders prior to dispatch with exception to new stores wich were all checked, Gave feedback to my department,(inventory control of any issues regarding picking or incorrect stock or dates in picking location, evaluate new items should be picked and packed. Very good management team, would listen to any suggestions you had that may improve everyones working enviroment. Very helpful and supportive. Co-workers all got on well together, the hardest part of my job was working to a sometimes short timeline in order to get the work checked and out to the customer, the most enjoyable part was haveing plenty of work to do and being left to do it.

Each day at this job follows a routine, depending on the department. I worked in picking, which was straightforward and easy to learn. However, the overall work culture left much to be desired.

As a woman, I often felt uncomfortable due to inappropriate jokes among coworkers. There also seemed to be a culture of exclusion, particularly affecting older employees like myself and foreign workers. Unfortunately, management did not foster a supportive environment, leading to frequent staff turnover.

Another challenge was the limited opportunity for employees to express their opinions. Younger employees, in particular, seemed to have little room for independent decision-making.

On the positive side, the company provides free coffee and tea, and the working hours are flexible with opportunities for overtime. Having access to on-site parking was also convenient for those who drive.

While the job itself isn’t difficult, the workplace culture can make it a challenging environment.


My time at Ceva involved daily tasks such as packing, picking, and clothing cleaning for the Under Armour product line. While the work itself was routine, the overall work atmosphere was somewhat impersonal. Communication, particularly with management, presented challenges, often leading to misunderstandings.

The company did offer some perks, such as the opportunity to cycle to work, a flexible shift pattern system, and employee sales on Under Armour products. Additionally, there was a potential for permanent employment after meeting specific performance criteria while working through an agency.

However, the impersonal work environment and communication issues overshadowed some of these positive aspects.

Work can be very easy/relaxed at times, but other times it can be very stressful and a lot to do for one person. Worked here for almost 5 years, took me 2 years to be able to progress up one level of my role, this was with a relocation of work place also.
Not good at training their staff well for the jobs they do. H&S can be ignored if they can't be bothered to fill in the paperwork for collisions and incidents, rarely see drug tests being done.
Management can be ok but usually are not very smart, depending on who they are, I've seen a lot of favouritism with the management and it doesn't sit well seeing it from the side lines.
Salary can be ok, this depends on the area and location you work in. Very rarely appreciated from management in regards to what you do for their site.
Managers can be very patronising, treating you like child a lot of the time. Aslo Head of Operations is one of the useless person.
Don't get bonuses unless you are senior management and the pay rises are rubbish.
