I have recently left my full-time job due to personal circumstances and I am currently looking for part-time work.  I am applying for the above position as I believe I possess the skills and experience that can be transferred to this role.

I was employed as a Territorial Sales Executive for Reach, working on the Nestle Food & Beverage account for over 2 years, working hard in B2B sales and marketing to ensure I achieved my individual KPI’s and team targets by building up good rapports with clients, sharing best practice with team colleagues and overcoming objections when speaking to business owners.  As a valued member of the team, I was chosen to be the Super User (first point of contact for computer support) for the Visicom program we utilised on our tablets.  I also mentored new staff around the country as part of their initiation and frequently headed conference calls in my manager’s absence.

As a member of Cabin Crew for Thomson Airways for over ten years, I had to meet the very high standards of customer service, first aid and security set by the airlines, and this involved both receiving and assisting in the delivery of staff training.  I carefully dealt with large volumes of cash in various denominations in a confined space, whilst multi-tasking and surrounded by a busy team.  This could not have been done without a sense of humour!  

I have highly developed communication skills, essential when dealing with cultural differences from all over the world, and am able to build good rapports with customers and colleagues, meaning I often adapt my approach.

Throughout the two separate mergers of this company, I have always maintained an expert knowledge of products, procedures and standards which change on a frequent basis.

I have previous experience working at RSA, dealing with claims and complaints; I have worked as a receptionist at Park Hampers, greeting all corporate visitors and helping out with general admin work and was trained to the standard of computer literacy necessary for these jobs, although I am  currently up-to-date and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and very confident when speaking on the telephone.

I am now keen to bring my skills and experience to a new environment and would be very grateful of any interest. 


To put it in a nutshell Nestlé waters is built on bulls**t. 
They did a survey and 40% of the staff said they don't want to be there, so the atmosphere is just horrible to work in. The staff turnover is massive so as you can imagine the ones that do stay are so depressed and angry because they're constantly training new staff that are just going to leave as soon as they wake up to the bulls**t anyway. Alot of the staff are actually really nice people and genuinely good workers once you get to know them but because of the consistent staff turnover they seem really rude and arrogant at first as they're so used to staff just coming and going. 
The company put rules in place like - you have to wear there uniform which they wash for you (for hygiene reasons) BUT don't even provide you a uniform.... I never had one full set of uniform in the 8 months I was there. Some of the staff wear uniform that hasn't been washed for months and I mean 2 - 3 months, that's no exaggeration. This isn't one or two members of staff, it's alot of them. The worst part is, you can't even wear your own clean clothes, you have to wear the uniform that they don't provide you. 
Another problem I noticed is the staff have alot of items going missing, for example people would go to get changed at the end of there shift to find out there trainers have been robbed or something like that.
All the equipment is either broke or constantly under repair. For example flt batteries last half the time they should because nobody charges them correctly, which obviously results in the problem getting worse. The management can't even sort simple problems like this out, they just leave everyone wasting time changing the batteries before the others are even charged..... Backwards!!
The job is not hard at all, infact it was the easiest job I've ever had but because it's so badly managed even simple things like I described with the batteries just make the job impossible. It's not just flt batteries, it's every last thing in that warehouse is either broke or just totally backwards.








In my role a typical day would be sense checking projects status in preparation for upcoming stage gates, running/analysing reports based on project time/cost and project "health" in terms of mandatory data and deliverables. I would be training and coaching project managers through the processes and systems surrounding portfolio and project management within Nestle. I may also be called upon to provide coaching/training on the structured problem solving tools used at Nestle. I have learned that no one wants to do a bad job but unless smart mistake proof solutions are provided to employees, things can still go wrong. I have been working over the last year to provide as much visibility to our portfolio as possible and to make working through the processes and reviewing things mistake proof. Over the last 5/6 years the management have been through a big culture shift from a more traditional management approach to now being more about coaching and asking open questions to employees for the best results. The hardest part of the job is getting things finished. As I work for a centre that is providing direction for 3 other sites (all in different countries) it sometimes takes time to get all the pieces of the jigsaw together. The most enjoyable part of the job is solving a problem and seeing the teams attitude towards certain processes change.



My experience within Nestlé Finance has unfortunately been disappointing and discouraging. Progression opportunities feel extremely limited, especially for employees with families or personal commitments. There is a clear preference for younger graduates who are able to say yes to everything, which leaves more experienced team members feeling overlooked.

Managerial support is lacking. One-to-one meetings rarely happen, and managers are often absent from the office, showing minimal interest in team development. As a result, team members frequently have to create their own support systems and social activities because leadership does not engage.

The expectation to study toward CIMA is presented as a strict requirement for any progression, even though some managers themselves are not fully qualified. This inconsistency is demotivating and creates a sense of unfairness. I was advised not to apply for internal opportunities without being on the CIMA pathway, which made progression feel inaccessible despite strong performance and experience.

Overall, the environment feels extremely corporate and impersonal. Employees often feel like just a number rather than valued individuals with career aspirations. It is disheartening to work in a culture where development is not supported, recognition is minimal, and long-term commitment is not appreciated.

A typical day involves going to the cash n carry in the morning to buy the stock needed for that day. I will always journey plan the night before which means I'm ready for the 10 retail visits I will do.
When in call, I'm looking to sell to the retailers needs and also to site point of sale to improve impulse purchases and increase the overall rate of sale. I'm also looking to convert retailers to the Nestle Reward Scheme by explaining the features and benefits.
I've learned so much about, not just about working as a territory executive for an FMCG company, but also about myself. It's extremely important to build up a good rapport and also to be an effective 'closer'. My success  in this role is a good indicator that I'm I posses both these attributes.
My managers have always been very supportive, as has the company and only want there employees to succeed.
We have a team meeting once a month and it's always good to meet and chat. During the rest of the period we keep in touch via phone and email. They're all down to earth and easy going.
I don't find the job that difficult now, one of the reasons I'm looking to move as I'm looking for a fresh challenge. I always over achieve on my targets.
I enjoy meeting and talking to my retailers. I also enjoy the feeling of being successful.

Not a bad salary for retail but you work underpressure and everything is about numbers, every morning (briefing)you are told about KPIS, how was the day before ,the performance, and who gets the big slice of this cake is only the management team. Staff contribute a lot for the company with a rediculous so called "incentive" bonus paid quarterly. After all the rules you have to follow and the sales you have done ,  when you see the "bonus" it is very disgusting 
Management is not capable to deal with people, unfortunately they are  fake, persuasive, game players and try to bring your self-steem down and often harass you. Shifts vary and you loose your social life. If you have a good performance they "award " you as a "Champion", where you are responsible for certain area in the boutique like : stock, machines and VM without being paid any extra penny.    Talking about  PDP - Personal Development Performance, they always try to put you down because you are never enough they judge your personality and behaviour not taking in consideration you are a human.. they should hire robots if they want people with no feelings. It is a nightmare company to work for. No staff stay long term .  Vacancies always available  for Nespresso Boutiques.

Nestle is one of the best companies I have ever worked for.  Unfortunately the management at the Dalston Factory have ruined it.  Having spent time with employees from other sites I know that Dalston stands alone in its poor morale, lack of ability to embrace new concepts by employees - due to poor management planning and rushing in new procedures without explaining why and often due to knee jerk reactions, a blame culture and a huge mistrust of management by the employees and visa - versa.  This was not the case a few years ago and is backed up by the high turnover of staff it is currently seeing - countless operating staff and half a dozen engineers in the past 6 months.

Most of this is widely blamed on the current factory manager.

My co-workers are the best I have worked with.  Knowledgeable, helpful and good banter.

The hardest part of the job is trying to comply with all the ridiculous management decisions and the constant changing of procedures.

The most enjoyable part of the job is working with the people on my shift and the actual job that I do is good.  Doing away with all the nonsense around it, the job is not the normal factory job.  It is challenging but not too difficult and the shifts go quickly.

While I did 2 weeks of work experience at Nestle I was shown around the production line, this taught me all the different sectors that need to be maintained and kept operational at all times.

 A typical day at work for a technician would be to be on call for any problems that may arise around the factory and be able to get there quickly and efficiently.  
The management I met seemed very friendly and hands on with he rest of the team and kept the staff motivated and ready to work.

The hardest part of the job in my opinion is that when a problem does occur every minute counts, so being stuck on a certain problem for too long could really cost the business some money if its not fixed quickly.

The part of the whole experience that I enjoyed was being able to be part of a large team that worked together and kept on task in a busy workplace, the production line itself was very interesting to see how it all works and is maintained to produce the common products we all know and love.

-	Responsible for the purchase and supply of Chocolate products for 28 chocolate and ice cream factories (customers) across Europe, executing strategy and ensuring adherence to procedures.
-	Identifying and executing savings through negotiation and tenders, and reporting in the appropriate tool.
-	Investigating and realising synergies for an effective supply chain between markets and factories.
-	Ensuring customers receive all necessary information for business planning purposes (Direct Forecasting, Operational Plans, and Budgets), maintaining awareness of market developments through regular reporting.
-	Contributing towards the development of a supply strategy for each market and supporting the management of the EUR portfolio taking into account performance, risk and the need to maintain a competitive environment.
-	Contributing to the expansion of responsibly sourced Cocoa (UTZ, Cocoa Plan).

I have enjoyed working for Nestle over the years and am sorry to be leaving the company when they shut Hayes factory at the end of December 2014. They have treated me well and I believe I have worked well for them. 
They believe in self improvement and encourage you to train to the best of your ability with plenty of courses to do within the factory and are always willing to help you if you have a problem.
The day always starts off tiring but gets better as it goes on with the help of the work colleagues around to lighten it. 
Over the years I have learned an amazing amount of things to do with manufacturing and the production of instant coffee. 
The hardest part of my job is the length of the day as my shifts are 12 hours long and become quite tiring, but I enjoy the variation in the jobs that I get to do.
