The management at suez are so far disconnected from the staff on the ground it is unreal they are happy to break rules when it suits them  they have no union that they will recognise so if you have a disciplinary issue there is nobody at the company that will help you as they are all scared that if they help you they will be saked too they will know who i am by the next part i will tell the world about where they saked me for THEFT i went to a disciplinary and proved i did not steal anything half way through the disciplinary process they realized i didnt steal anything so they changed what they were saking me for to not weighing items on a scale in the shop the scales to weigh items on were not working broken before i ever started there when this was explained to the management they wouldn't accept that they were wrong and terminated my contract for under valuing goods and not weighing items on the scales gross misconduct apparently we all know that this is not gross misconduct but a training issue at best never the less still saked for not weighing items on scales when in there own disciplinary procedures it states that if you cant weigh an item then a best guessed estimate is ok i followed this procedure and entered 15kg manually there is little to no training in the shop apart from to get what you can for the second hand good you will receive no auctioneer's training or training for older antiques if you miss judge a value you could be saked for under valuing items like me oh and dont forget to weigh the sold items on the scales also or you could be saked for that too even if they are broken thats your fault so could be saked if you train for the digger and miss judge any thing hit a bin load the bucket wrong ect ect ect you could be saked too in my opinion save your self the trouble go and work stacking shelfs the money is better and you will be treated fairly and maybe they will actually listen too any problems you may have worst company in the world stay well clear it says something when the staff turn over is very high and the reviews are 1* if there was minus stars i would give suez -10*  also would like to say im now 36 years old and have never been saked from a job in my life apart from this company my job before this job i was employed for 14 years without issue just fancied a change what a bad move this proved to be

I worked here for over two years, first as a technician, then as an analyst. All I can say is how happy I am to be out of that place. The annual staff turnover is about 40%, and there are several very good reasons for this. Pay is terrible - many labs pay their technicians more than analysts get here. Due to the high staff turnover, "training" basically means that you get one or two weeks sitting next to somebody who is trying to teach you everything they know (and they typically only had about a years experience working on their instrument) before they leave for another job. I learnt more in 2 months in my currant workplace than in 2 years working here. Break time conversation often revolved around jobs that we had seen/applied for.

Expectations are way too high. Although the management aren't particularly unpleasant or bullying, analysts are expected to handle a massive workload while maintaining quality, and have to work in a really rushed manner. This made for a workplace in which high stress is the norm. Understaffing is a problem here, it is so bad that if you take a day off for whatever reason, your position cannot be adequately covered, so coming in the next day is a nightmare. I know of staff members who had vomited but still came into work because they couldn't face the thought of what would be waiting for them the next day if their work didn't get done. This wasn't the case when I started working here, but the business expanded rapidly without taking on enough staff.

I am still in contact with a couple of staff who work here, and they say that despite a slight improvement in salaries and health and safety, things are in general getting worse and morale has declined even further.

On a more positive note, my colleagues were great people to work with, helping out as much as possible and we could always have a good laugh together, even in trying circumstances, but most of them have gone on to better things now. Also, you can become an analyst with a few months of starting here. Due to the turnover, you could usually count on at least 5 analyst positions (out of 10 or 11), becoming free in any given year.

The supervision are a waste of time they like to run the place like a social club for there friends that are part of a click to sit in the office with there feet up whilst every one else is working they bring there friends into the business they advance quickly through the ranks get the positions of plant operators etc it was the same before even when viridor had the business on the greater Manchester contract I can not understand how a reputable corporate multi national company allows certain people to rob a living its now got to a point were the genuine employes have had enough i know this will be read by middle to senior management my advice would be to act on this quickly send some one on the shop floor to find out What's going on i.e undercover to sort this problem out you can cut the atmosphere in the mrf with a knife the tension is that bad when you report problems  to supervision in regards to the plant not working properly they carnt even be bothered to even listen to you let alone act on the problems they just responde with a sarcastic comments to belittle you when you are trying to do your job the saddest thing out of all this is that all the genuine employees will go and you will be left with people who are there on false pretences my sincere advice to any one who wants to work at longley lane sharson mrf especially on nights is to turn round and run until this situation has been sorted lets wait and see if head office was to see one third of what goes on at the facility they would have a field day the bit i really find amusing the company is supposed to have a zero tolerance policy regarding drugs with it being such a dangerous industry with heavy mobile plant movement etc yet there are guys on site that are regular users that are a danger to them selves and every one else how no one has been killed is a miracle but i suppose ignorance is bliss to suez they do employ criminals there is no screaning process like most companys its a disgrace i have come of a twelve hour shift to type this so the world knows What's really going on 

Lots of decide between drivers and loaders, if the loads are well established in the company they pick and choose who they want as a driver, and they are not always the nicest, they like to push you as a driver you don't stop, they can eat while you drive to the tips, you can't they forget that! The job is hard going spending at least 1/3 of your day going backwards, and having to watch out for cars and people, there are lots of rules around it all, taking holiday is a pain as everyone always wants it at the same time and not many people can be off at the same time. You can be with a different crew every day, you are expected to go out and help other crews even if others finshed before you and have already gone home so that's not fair and gets rather annoying. Management is ok, they are approachable, and decent enough people just tied with rules of the company. It's not a bad place to work, early starts and long days, trucks are all a bit beaten up lots without Aircon so you sweat in the summer due to the strick rules on uniform being saftey boots and full length thick throusers to protect you,also have to wear gloves yet again personal protection so it's for our benefit, not a good job if you are unfit or unwill even as the driver you are expected to get out and load the lorry. It's a tiring job and can be long days with little to no time to eat unless eat while you drive, early starts late finsihes can be out the house for 12 easy. Not the worst job I've ever had or will have. 

Start times vary depending on what you're told you're doing the following day. There can be very little routine to the week which adversely affects your sleep pattern and tiredness takes its toll. Home life is also affected because you're going to bed so early (8pm can be a late one) there's no time to spend with family or friends. 
Vehicles are in desperate need of modernisation. I have driven a few that have gone further than the Moon!! 
"Supervisors" don't listen to drivers and constantly cover up their mistakes. There is no ownership for errors made in the transport office (at my depot at least) and no one higher up seems to notice the figures just don't add up. 
Facilities on site are poor and we feel as though we're looked down upon by those who don't have to wear hi-viz clothing. If you smoke and work in the offices, you can easily take 10 minutes every hour to get your fix, but try and stop to talk to a colleague for a couple of minutes and it's noticed! 
No appreciation is shown for hard work or exceptional acts and morale is a dirty word. 
My managers door is always open, because my manager is rarely in his office. 
Pay could be better, as could communication. 
Personally, I feel worthless and my years of experience count for nothing. 
As soon as a suitable job elsewhere is available, I will be leaving.

A typical day at SUEZ was signing visitors in and out, answering external and internal calls, replying to and sending emails, booking transport and hotels for colleagues, disrupting the post, ordering stationary online and I was in charge of testing the fore alarms weekly. At SUEZ I learnt about the business, I learnt how to order stationary online, I learnt how to book colleagues trains and hotels and what procedures and policies to follow throughout my day. My co-workers were great, very supportive and helpful, my line manager especially would always look out for me and check I was ok. They made me feel very welcome and I was able to gain some really good admin experience from them. The hardest part of the job was then learning and progressing on to help with the accounts and financial team. I learnt how to process statements, cheques, remittances and chase up any outstanding payments. The most enjoyable part of my job was working as part of  a team, learning new things everyday, being front of the house and welcoming customers in and finding out how much I enjoyed admin/reception work.

I worked for Sita Uk as an agency driver on a temp to perm contract, I received no training on the vehicle I was driving (bin lorry) I have driven various lorries throughout my driving career so luckily I picked it up fast. 
 I was not given any training on the emptying of the vehicle when it was full, and to that point was given a "near miss" when it came to emptying the vehicle at the un loading depot,as I could not carry out the un loading procedure correctly!!!

The company have recently re located and have lost a great deal of regular drivers who knew the job/routes,as a new driver I was just given the keys and the work sheets and told to "do my best!!

The other drivers were helpfull and friendly, as were the girls in the office, but I feel that they are being "put upon" and they felt their hand were tied when it came to trying to improve things.

This could be a very good job if/as and when it was more organised and operated correctly, the training seriously needs reviewing/addressing.
The hardest part of the job is sometimes having to move heavy bins which are sometimes difficult to get into position to empty into the bin lorry.also route planning could be better, especially when you are sent out alone without a loader

Great to start off, loved working with the Agency lads but once they where laid off things went badly wrong!!
I got picked on daily by my Line Manager's at Williton who were very arrogant!
No support at all in van's as you cover everyone else's  work when you think you're finished and if you go sick you get pulled in the office over your stupid Bradford Scores! Even if you have doctors certificates!! 
Training is pathetic by very arrogant line managers, just a stupid video for 5 minutes now and again! 
Managers don't care about you as long as the recycling is done!! 
Given loads of extra work most day's to cover others work which was not on! When I mean exta work it's whole estates or road's!!
I worked with some nice staff when I started but the pace of the work was crazy and too fast!! 😳 They expect you to walk miles and keep up but when you're nearly 63 it's a big NO!! 
I got blamed for something I never done and stiched up by work colleagues who you thought you trusted!! 
Never trust anyone here especially the line management!! 😩😤😡
Two years is enough here unless you're crawling up the line managers backs to keep your job!! 

Don't go and work for this company. Pay is rubbish for what they expect from you. Terrible senior management. They have there favourite sites and people. The minute you question your workload or lack of staff or poor pay they will look for something you have done wrong and get rid of you. They love secret recording and filming. They turn a blind eye when managers do something wrong and it's a case of them and us. Don't ever think about getting promoted if you work hard, that is saved for the useless staff that are friends or ex workmates from a previous job. You have to pay for some training and it takes months to get your money back. The management don't care about the staffs mental health and come on site constantly bullying and criticising work even though there are unachievable work demands. You could do 10 years with this company and if you stick up for yourself or your face don't fit they will stick a camera in and have you up the road. 

Job is obviously fast paced, stinky, dirty and physical, not very hard except for learning routes and the pressure they put you under. They overload your route making it hard to get back for decent times. Was doing 180-220 industrial sized bins per day. Locations would be too spread out with an hour drive for just a couple bins ruining your day. 
Poor management, never knew what was going to happen from day to day, as a new driver was swapped round at their convenience, wasn't given sufficient time or driving time, pressured to rush and make dangerous decisions, like speeding. Was forced out in truck with poor cameras and use different trucks regularly. Then got told off for reporting the defects. Supervisor tells you to do dangerous thing like climb up the bin lift. When fully trained you will also be on your own doing very heavy bins. Management does not care about your safety, only bothered about their side of things to make their job easier. Wage is average and not many benefits compared to other companies in same field.
