A typical day at work would to do a daily check in and around site incl roof areas using the daily tick sheet insuring all is well, any defects will be noted down with pictures quotes would then be acquired from a number of approved contractors which would then be forwarded onto my company surveyor for approval for works to be carried out asap, check cleaners cleaning procedures are in place and carried out to high standard at all times and assist them if needed (jet washing), ensuring all recycled waste has been emptied, walk around and speak to all tenants to discuss any issues that may have occurred especially over the weekends and general chat with regards to how their trading (gathering weekly trading figures in % from each tenant).

Over the years I have gained a vast amount of knowledge attended courses with regards to Health and Safety,audits,contractors control, carrying out risk assessments / permits to work most of which are all stated in my cv, approving invoices - this has helped me hugely in the day to day running of the site I have looked after for the past 8 years.

The most enjoyable part of my job was coming to work being left alone to run this site to a very high standard (using my own initiative from time to time) and keeping everything in line with company policies and procedures going that extra mile on numerous occasions - receiving praise from members of the public, both tenants company surveyors and the Landlord whom I became very close friends with..


Days were dynamic, filled with managing a wide range of responsibilities. The workload was consistently heavy, often without the necessary support, which was challenging yet rewarding.
The experience sharpened my skills in managing complex situations and leading projects to enhance building security and overall satisfaction.
While I appreciated the shared commitment to excellence, the lack of support in staffing and personal development opportunities was a significant drawback. 

The culture was driven by a collective aim to deliver great service, with good collaboration across departments. However, the emphasis on securing good reviews added unnecessary pressure.
Navigating the consistently overwhelming workload without adequate support, alongside staffing and training issues, was the most challenging aspect. Dealing with infrastructure problems and maintaining high satisfaction under these circumstances were particularly demanding tasks.

Transforming and maintaining a positive environment was satisfying. Implementing solutions that directly improved experiences and operational efficiency was rewarding
Despite the positive aspects, the decision to leave came from the unsustainable workload, understaffing, missed training opportunities, and some initial compensation issues which were resolved later on. These factors contributed to burnout.



The problem lay with management, changed so many times, not a safe environment to work in, you're doing a lot more than the job description, had to fight for a wage rise and still underpaid for what you do especially if you have both badges.Cover guards sitting around for there whole shift on there mobile so you're doing the job of two and management don't bat an eye but god forbid if you're an in-house guard and make an honest mistake  you're in that office so quick and up for a disciplinary.Staff were the ones keeping it running at Princes Square especially over Covid and yet they still didn't see how much the staff were loyal to help out. Promises where made so many times yet still no change especially when it came to staff and tenants safety. They have unlicensed Guards in a control room,never any chance of moving up. typical it's who you know that counts. I've of the most unsecured buildings I've known. The only pros I can give savills at Princes Square were the rate of pay goes up every year and you get a bonus at the end of the year. If they just sort out management and Security issues Princes Square would be a great environment to work in. Typical large company all about profit and loss who cares about the staff and what they think and feel. It's the staff that keep it running especially long term staff. Companies should remember that, the simple thing of keeping your staff happy. 

I would not recommend working for Savills Management Resources if you value your self worth at all.

You will be lead on with false promises of training, payrises, promotions and other benefits which will never appear. 

You will also be expected to take on the extra work and higher roles but never see the higher salary - they will even breach contracts with staff to keep their clients happy. If the site requires you to work unsociable or weekend hours, you will be expected to do so, as Savills do not support their own staff. 

HR have no control of staff in the company, who do and say as they please to staff "below" them.

There are no benefits to working for SMR - you will not receive any sick pay, health insurance... or in fact any perks worth mentioning! Holiday/Annual leave is less than 25 days (bare minimum) 

No workplace culture at all - don't expect any monthly drinks or staff meals except for once a year at Christmas (even that is questionable and unpleasant due to catty vibes among most of the staff)

Basically you can expect an isolated, depressing and lonely job as you will not receive any regular visits from management/HR and can expect to be ignored if you raise any issues/grievances - as they do not take any staff issues seriously.

Savills as a company is good to work for, they offer a competitive salary, bonus scheme and job security.

Unfortunately due to poor management the company seems to encourage a negative behaviour towards staff and bullying is part of the culture. If your family don't own a large amount of land or if you didn't attend a private school you will most certainly be frowned upon and treated unfairly. 
Having witnessed many staff in tears, depressed and self doubting their abilities as a result of working at Savills I can most certainly say leaving was the best decision I have made in a long time.

You don't need people skills to be a manager at Savills, you also don't need to be accountable for your actions or have a kind bone in your body. 

If you make HR aware of the issues in the office nothing will happen as the people in charge are wealthy and have contacts the business needs.

It's a massive shame as the company offers great opportunities to those that are already wealthy or to those that are able to back stab to get to there position.

Thaysack me four looking out four  thames as hi was never late in the  six months work ing as a Fabric Engineer  asked  sum one  cumming in to the  building  to close the  main  entrance  door as wee add sum kids getting in to the  main entrance  and  trying to get  in to the  apartment  and  sum complaint was  made about  me so thay sack me 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Carrying out work by myself when others where down at the pub for the best part if the afternoon, everyday. This was when I worked at Filigree, Lewisham and happened regularly.

Very negative particularly the management side.

 very poor management don't have a clue  on chemicals to use muscle be on plaza every day empty bins even if it's a day of rain other employees cause problems an get away with it constantly watching u calling u to clean other jobs which is not your job very bad health &safety not bothered about your safety questions if u don't clean an area if your stuck with 6bins of cardboard and 12 bins of rubbish to compact no lighting no canteen plus public toilets not a very good company avoide trust me unless the service manager leaves I wouldn't work there again

On ur feet for 7hours be for u get a a bracke look face don't fit uv got problems

Over loading of work every Day

Typical day would be stuck on Reception all day without an insight of a Building Manager or Security in most cases having your lunch break 2 hours before your shift is due to end! Dont expect to be rewarded for your hard work or acknowledged by Management as you never see them! 

I have not learned a single thing and it seems as if there isnt any way to get your foot in the door to work your way up which most management would be impressed when you ask however here it is a different story. 

There is no workplace culture as you dont get to meet any of your fellow colleagues and the environment itself isnt very interactive. The job itself is easy as long as you have a voice to speak and aren't afraid of picking up a phone there is no hard part of a reception role.

The job had many periods of repetition,but each day brought its own challenges.Continuity of good service to clients resulted in trust being established and made each working day a pleasure.My hours were 1300/1800 Mon/Fri.We had a good team and all of us worked  to one end,that was looking after our clients.Management trusted all of us to do our  jobs,the result was we were allowed to get on with it.Unexpected visitors demanding parking to see Clients.This was sorted by liasing with the appropriate Client and dealing with the problem.Daily contact with Clients and staff of the Clients,building relationships and trust over a period of years.

There is no typical day at work, which makes it more interesting. We never know if one of the team have let the house cat out, or an attempted break in on a house where we hold the keys.Our workplace culture is very dedicated and depends hugely on our feedback as this is shared with all the offices so get very competitive, but good as keeps everyone on their toes. Our down days are when we lose a sale after working hard to keep it going, but our best days are when everything goes to plan. That is most jobs I think but there is never a dull moment at Savills we work really well as a team which i think is very important and take great pride in representing our company.
