After initially applying for a job vacancy online I didn't hear anything back for over a week. I then received an e-mail asking me to call in to register for said job.

I told them I'd be down later that day, drove into leeds paid for my parking and when I arrived was told they couldn't see me today as I had no appointment ( so why not tell me before ) , and booked me for an appointment the next day .

Arrived the next day , I paid for my parking,seen by someone completely different ,started filling out my forms then was asked for all my documentation , no one told me if have to bring anything , had to leave and go home to get it and again , pay for more parking . Came back in filled out the forms after being seen by yet again someone else . 

Was told about the details of the job I'd applied for but not that they were putting me forward .

Went home a bit annoyed but ready to start my own building work when I got a call asking me to start the next day for ONGOING warehouse work . I was told I can either take the job of forget it , so on the promise of regular work I took it .

Turned up for the job with a nice genuine company only to find out that A, it wasn't warehouse work it was picking rubbish up from the yard and putting it in a skip , and B, it was only for two days .the agency staff who set me up for the job arrived and told me she didn't care as she was off to Amsterdam later that day , nice .

Quite frankly this is the worst agency/company ever , their attitude with people stinks , and they really couldn't care about the employee . 

I read about keeping 30 percent of your wage , and that part is true , unfortunately they get you to sign a form saying it's all legit and that it covers certain things , no signing ,no contract simple as that .

I'm now in a position to hire my own staff and not a chance I'll be using them. And I'm advising the companies I work with to avoid them too.

When i signed up for gap personnel as a HCA i expected hassle free process as i had sent all documents and training up to date and everything they had asked for. i received various phone calls asking for more documentation and that they had not received my documents when i explained i did send them and the person managed to find them. i then received emails asking for further documents but really strange requests documents that a normal workplace does not need to see, the company was highly disorganised and it took them some time to process a simple passport for ID this took them a week before they sent me an email again asking for more proof of address they already had 4. the whole process was around 4 weeks before they even sent off for my references so if your hoping to start with this company within a week it will definitely not happen, they didn't really know what they where doing and wanted to share my personal data without my permission this data was protected and no body but the company had the right to know this information. all in all it was a pretty stressful process and i hope that they can amend the process to make it less disorganised. I did not want to continue with my application process as the signs where already clear i wasn't going to be happy working for gap personnel. 

I applied for the role of an FLT Reach Truck Driver or at least that’s what I thought it was. I registered and during the registration I asked what the main role would be and I was told I would be on the Reach Truck 90% of the time. On my first day I was told I would be stood on a line picking items and putting them into boxes. When I contacted the agency I was told that I would have to do this work first before going on a reach truck as we don’t go on any FLT’s on the first few days. I was not told this when I registered face to face and it doesn’t say this in the job description they had advertised. I thought I would check all this out before I confronted the agency to ask questions. Once I got through to them I was passed from pillar to post until I managed to speak to the person in charge of the vacancy to vent my frustration at being lied to about the role I was applying for. Only for her to tell me just get on with the job and we will try and get you on the trucks. This agency are a joke and there is no way of getting made permanent after 13 weeks as the company are not taking people on. Another lie they told me. I am basically having to settle for a lesser role for less money. 
Do not waste your time with this agency otherwise you will get burned.

Had the unfortunate pleasure of working for this outfit, was lied too about the pay £9 per hour paye, when infact it was £9 umbrella which worked out less than minimum wage after they charge you for the pleasure of paying you? But of course you find this out after two weeks work, 
No paperwork off gap to prove your pay just all lies over the telephone wish I recorded it as evidence.
we were treated like scum all of us, if one was off you never saw them again just replaced by another robot,
 holidays booked ? Forget coming back replaced by another minion,
 pennies were always wrong some never got there pennies at all constantly on the phone, get caught on the phone..... replace the lemming,
 10 min breakfast kettle would not boil in time back to work scum,
 cold water to wash hands no soap no toilet paper absolutely atrocious. 
If you complained guess what? Replaced.
I've worked a few agencies these are the very worst by far.
 I've never had a good job with any agency they seem to get the brain ache jobs with companies that cannot or will not employ anyone direct so they use these bloodsucking parisites who will shaft every penny from you.

I worked for gap for a month and they are unreliable and absolutely useless, they can never pay you correctly and you have to ring up every week to get it sorted. I was promised a steady 4 on 4 off night shift which turned out to be lies as I was called up on random day shifts to work which was no good for me as I have child care to attend to. I finally got the 4 on 4 off shift I was looking for but after a week I was told I was not needed for 3 nights!!! Which just before Xmas put me in a panic and I had to find somewhere else to go which luckily I did quickly and it's been excellent. The manager of the branch is on another planet and speaks at you and not to you, he gives you all the promises of extra pay to "help him out" and the drop of a hat which on one night it was 11pm and I'd been up since 7am and he wanted me to do the night shift, it only seems when it is convenient for him he will call you to work. I would avoid this place like the plague they pay you the wrong rate of pay then blame it on the company you where working at even tho I sent time sheets, I really wished I read the reviews before signing up to this comical agency. STAY WELL AWAY!!!

Worked with some brilliant lads at Westbridge Furniture all hardworking and looked after each other. which brings me to the reason for the low star rating
The management were a disgrace, no real understanding of how hard we worked 
More interested in looking good for client visits and there own personal ego 
Was made to rapidly load a wagon after being told it was due to leave in 20 mins only for it to sit there for 2 hours and I had to pretend to look busy after that for a period of time which is daunting mid way through a shift as I would rather crack on with the job I actually applied for rather than jump on other positions within the factory 
The Management at Gap were horrendous 
Had me sitting there for long periods of time during induction,
Worked overtime and never got payed for it always the promise we will sort it and never happened
I have 2 children and a partner to provide for 
I don't have time to be messed around.

The rest of my time was spent doing a warehouse assistants job which is not what I applied for.

Absolutly rubish the company promised a 6 month contract then terminated 3 days later didnt even get told that i did not have a job and carried on turning up every morning for work and got told the orders hadnt came through. I eventually got told by one of the team leaders after walking in the rain every morning. The agent tracy is usless and over all a bit rude. She made me uncomfortable basically picked on mu insicurities and didnt tell me anything exept the name of the company i was unaware of location, hours salery and everything else also she told me it was a phone based role and i did data entry from paper orders to pc instead. Over all my experiance with gap personell and with scotts of stow was a bad one through all the messing i could have been looking for more stable work. It was a terible experiance please don't even bother with this agency they are as useful as a wet towel.

I worked night shifts from 10pm until 6pm and I would arrive at work and depart to the alcohol isle where I would go and use the pump truck to get a pallet out the stock room and refill the shelves ready for customers to buy. I was employed here at the busiest time of the year which made it harder work, but I like hard work rather than trying to pass time. I learned that there is more to shelf stacking than I thought ! Certain labels tell you how many rows of bottles should be facing out on the shelf so that's one main thing I learnt (not much really to learn in shelf stacking). The hardest part of the job was lifting all the heavy crates of alcohol (which did hurt after lifting them all night) but I enjoy the pain as it makes you feel like you've actually done something. The management were great they just told you what stock was ready to be put out on what night really and the most enjoyable part of the job was learning all the new ranges that I didn't even know existed !

You work day to day nothing is guaranteed
Some weeks you can have 2 days work some 3 sometimes none !!! 
The agency don't care where they send you as long as they get there money out of the company!!! You are paid minimum wage while they make there money charging the company lots !!! 
I was sent to a mail sorting company which was only 5 hours a shift so for one week work I did 5 hours on 6.31 ph !!!!! Not exactly enough to pay your bills !!! 
Then I worked at ds smiths plastics as the warehouse punch bag !!!! Cleaning sweeping and being spoken to like rubbish by the warehouse manager for 8 hrs a day 
In my personal opinion if your hard working push to work for a company working for agency you get looked down upon with no respect and to top it off gap like you to be on call 24-7 so never plan anything as if you turn down a job it likely you won't be getting anymore for a while

I worked at Hermes and it was a very nice place the people were great and the job was fairly easy. However everyday when I turned up, the agency had not sent a time sheet so it was very difficult for my hours to be tracked. This lead to me being underpaid on a few incidences (admittedly they were resolved so credit where it is due I guess). However all of a sudden I stopped receiving communication from the agency telling me what times to work. They insisted that Hermes was ignoring their calls which seems a poor excuse to me. I guess everyone was nice to speak to, but they weren’t good at their jobs or getting you a job or making you feel valued or even relevant. I wouldn’t recommend, unless you’re looking for a job that’s unreliable.
