About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing and ambitious business specialising in cupcakes and biscuits as well as other sweet treats. It will include baking and finishing a variety of goods to a high standard. You would also help with the packing of the products for delivery and ensure the bakery is kept clean and tidy. Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferable.
Responsibilities
The main duties of the post include, but are not limited to:
- Decorating a variety of baked goods
- Helping to bake a variety of goods such as biscuits, cupcakes and macarons
- Covering celebration cakes with sugarpaste
- Finishing the products and piping buttercream
- Using Edible printers / printing software
- Packing and wrapping up orders
- Keeping the bakery clean, tidy and ensuring food hygiene safety is to the highest standard.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Hands on baker, passionate about delivering only the best baked goods.
- Baking experience preferable.
- Great attention to detail with the ability to listen carefully and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Good planning and organisational skills to meet deadlines
- A positive attitude with high levels of energy, enthusiasm and the flexibility to react effectively to changing priorities
- Work on own initiative, be proactive and manage workload with little intervention from the management team.
- Experience of mixing, kneading and processing dough, specialised decorating such as buttercreaming.
- Knowledge and experience of baking in commercial ovens and of using a wide range of bakery and kitchen equipment
- Understanding of allergens and food safety
- Relevant baking or patisserie qualification desirable
- A level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferable

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
Experience:
- Baking: 1 year (preferred)
- Cake decorating: 1 year (preferred)
