Dismantler Job Description:
Duties:
- Disassemble vehicles according to environmental guidelines, established procedures and safe working practices
- Remove parts and components carefully to avoid damage
- Sort and organize removed parts for inventory purposes, including marking up the parts appropriately for listing/merchandising
- Inspect parts for quality and determine if they can be reused or recycled
- Dispose of unusable parts and materials in an environmentally responsible manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude - prior experience of using set of hand tools such as ratchet, socket set etc. or working in a more practical employment is required. Prior experience as a dismantler or in a related field would be an advantage but is not required as full training will be given.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate disassembly and part identification
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and supervisor. Base level of written English is required.
