We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Junior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the financial management processes of our organisation, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various accounting functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about financial services and eager to develop their accounting expertise within a collaborative environment. What you'll be doing
Processing and accurately posting supplier invoices to the accounting system.
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
- Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts and ensuring records are accurate.
- Processing supplier payments and assisting with payment runs.
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating outstanding items.
- Responding to supplier queries and resolving invoice and payment issues.
- Managing and posting prepayments, including setting up schedules and ensuring monthly postings are completed accurately.
- Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and supplier reconciliations.
- Ensuring invoices are coded correctly to the appropriate nominal accounts, departments and cost centres.
- Supporting the wider Finance team with ad-hoc tasks and reporting as required.
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised financial records in line with company procedures.
Skills and Experience you'll need to have
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft is essential for effective task execution.
- Either part qualified ACCA, AAT, CIMA or bachelors degree in accounting and finance.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles within the context of financial services industry standards.
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and general financial accounting practices in a busy fast pace environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to various accounting systems and procedures.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and mentoring junior staff.
- Basic understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the role.
