At the Yorkshire Soap Company, we’ve been creating a little bit of magic for our customers for over 20 years. As our online business continues to grow, we’re looking for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Online Assistant to join our team at our distribution centre in Harrier Court, Airfield Industrial Estate, Elvington, York.
This is a temporary role through to Christmas, with the potential for a permanent position for the right person.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be part of our busy online team, helping to make sure every customer order is picked, packed and dispatched beautifully.
We pride ourselves on creating a magical experience for our customers, so you’ll be adding those extra special touches that turn an everyday delivery into something that feels like a gift.
Your day-to-day role will include:
- Picking and packing customer orders
- Stock control
- Preparing beautifully presented orders for dispatch
- Helping with customer enquiries via telephone and website
- Working as part of a friendly, fast-paced team
- Ensuring every order leaves us looking its best
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who:
- Loves working at a fast pace while paying every attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and be able to provide excellent customer service over the telephone and via the web site comms.
- Is confident with numbers and basic analysis
- Is comfortable using computers and learning new technology
- Can work well as part of a team, but is also self-motivated to work independently
- Has a positive, can-do attitude and enjoys making things a little bit special!
The hours
20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime.
Christmas is our busiest and most magical time of year, so there will be the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during our peak season, with occasional Saturday work in December.
