Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical and Administrative SupportAssistant to join our team at the Skegness Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
This is a dual-role position combining both clinical and administrative responsibilities. Applicants must have previous experience in primary care, be competent in venepuncture (blood taking), and have experience using SystmOne.
The successful candidate will provide essential support to both clinical and administrative teams, ensuring patients receive a professional, efficient, and compassionate service throughout their diagnostic journey.
This role is 5 days out of 7 and includes participation in the weekend on-call rota (approximately 3 weekends per month).
Essential RequirementsApplicants MUST have:
- Previous experience working within a Primary Care setting, such as a GP Practice, Primary Care Network (PCN), or Community Healthcare Service.
- Proven experience undertaking venepuncture (blood taking) for adults and children.
- Experience performing ECGs.
- Experience using SystmOne.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A good understanding of patient confidentiality, GDPR, and information governance.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a busy healthcare environment.
- A flexible approach to support service needs, including participation in the on-call rota.
Main DutiesClinical Responsibilities
- Undertake venepuncture (blood taking) for adult and paediatric patients.
- Perform ECGs in line with local protocols.
- Prepare and maintain clinical rooms and equipment.
- Maintain stock levels and support infection prevention procedures.
- Assist clinicians with the delivery of diagnostic services.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Register and check in patients using SystmOne.
- Schedule and manage appointments.
- Process referrals and diagnostic paperwork.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Answer telephone enquiries and provide information to patients and visitors.
- Support administrative processes to ensure smooth operation of the CDC.
Weekend On-Call Responsibilities
- Participate in the CDC weekend on-call rota.
- Provide support for service continuity during weekends and out-of-hours operational requirements.
