About the role
We’re looking for a Tax Assistant to join our growing chartered accountancy practice in Thame, Oxfordshire.
You’ll support the team with a varied portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, assisting with compliance work, client enquiries and tax planning opportunities. You’ll receive guidance from an experienced Tax Adviser and take on greater responsibility as your knowledge develops.

We also work closely with the Wills and Trusts Estate Planning Partnership, providing exposure to a varied range of tax and estate planning matters.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting with personal and corporate tax returns
- Supporting VAT and Corporation Tax submissions
- Preparing accurate working papers and reconciliations
- Managing client enquiries and maintaining accurate records
- Monitoring deadlines and taking ownership of allocated work
- Supporting new entity setups and tax registrations
- Identifying and escalating potential tax issues
- Liaising with clients, colleagues and external advisers
- Contributing to projects and process improvements
About you
You’ll have:
- Ideally previous tax or accountancy practice experience
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- A genuine interest in developing a career in tax

Pay: £25,450.00-£35,000.00 per year
