About the Role:
Supporting the recruitment of young people, aged 16-18 (up to 24 with SEND) to our Study Programme provision. The transition of learners to a positive destination following the completion of their programme and tracking of these destinations. The placement of learners in suitable external provisions as part of their timetable.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Interview and enrol learners for the Study Programme to meet ESFA and contractual requirements, through group / individual interviews, supporting the initial assessment where required and ensuring accurate information and data is collected and shared accordingly.
- Work with Local Authority contacts, feeder schools, other providers and key stakeholders to build our profile and identify suitable young people for our provision.
- Maintain and update tracking systems for learner engagement and share information in Panel meetings ensuring all applicants are discussed and agreements are made on suitability for the Study Programme.
- Offer Centre tours across the year for prospective students, parents, carers and agencies to promote the courses and the offer available for young people, including overseeing the process of group sessions.
- Support with sourcing suitable placements for those learners requiring offsite provision, ensuring SLA’s are agreed and Health and Safety is complied with.
- Engaging with achieving the strategic aims of the County to reduce NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training) and increase participation of the most vulnerable students providing information, advice and guidance to young people with known vulnerability issues at specific points of transition into their post 16 destination
- Process all applications and enrolments, responding to Local Authority consultations timely.
- Identify learners who require support with transition and create action plans to map out steps required to secure effective transition to ensure learner goals and aspirations are met.
- Support with all Panel meetings through producing recorded notes of the discussions.
- Support with the tracking learner destinations at point of leaving the Study Programme and up to 5 years from their end date.
- Analyse and report on destination data, contributing to improvements and processes.
- Attend, where possible, events relevant to SEND learners.
- Build rapport and good working relationships with parents/carers and all external agencies linked with a young person, ensuring communication is maintained.
- Attend external networking meetings and events to increase business awareness and grow WS Trainings profile.
- Where necessary signpost learners to the Career Advisors or Apprenticeship team if learners are not suitable for SEND but suited to a Traineeship or Apprenticeship and other external provisions.
- In order to help in the efficiency and smooth running of the Company, you may be required to help in any section, carrying out other work and other duties, as the workload so requires.
- Support with reporting data to Head of Education on learner enrolment numbers and enquiries, transition and destination data.

Preferred Experience:
- An understanding of education for young people in post 16 education with SEND.
- Understanding of Equality & Diversity, safeguarding and Health and safety
- Minimum of a level 2 functional skills or equivalent in maths and English
- Desirable to have a minimum of a level 2 ICT qualification
- Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
