Industrial Electrical Technician
CEON designs, manufactures and supports electrical control systems for industrial machinery across the UK and Ireland.
We work with OEMs and industrial customers to deliver electrical installations, machine control systems, engine control solutions and commissioning services across a range of sectors including environmental & recycling, materials handling, food & beverage, water & wastewater, pharmaceutical and marine.
Our projects range from industrial control panels and fixed plant through to diesel engine packages, generators, hydraulic equipment and 12V/24V DC control systems, giving our engineers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of technically challenging equipment.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an Industrial Electrical Technician to join our team.
The Role
This is a predominantly field-based position suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems and working on a wide range of industrial machinery.
You will install, modify, service, fault-find and commission electrical systems on customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland. When not on site, you will assist with project preparation, testing and final inspections before equipment leaves our facility.
No two projects are the same. One week you could be commissioning a new control system, the next diagnosing faults on an engine package or upgrading an existing machine.
Key Responsibilities
Install electrical systems on industrial machinery.
Wire motors, sensors, valves, actuators and field devices.
Install and modify control panels and machine electrical systems.
Fault-find AC and DC electrical systems.
Assist with machine commissioning and start-up.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Complete electrical testing and commissioning documentation.
Liaise professionally with customers while on site.
Support project preparation, testing and inspections between site activities.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and safety.
Essential Skills & Experience
Qualified Electrician or Electrical Technician.
Experience working on industrial machinery or electrical installations.
Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
Full UK driving licence.
Strong communication skills and a professional approach when working with customers.
Desirable Experience
12V/24V DC control systems.
Diesel engines and generator control systems.
Mobile plant or industrial machinery.
PLC-controlled equipment.
CANbus (SAE J1939).
Variable speed drives and motor control.
Electrical fault finding and commissioning.
