Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Café Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant café environment. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of café staff, ensuring smooth operation during shifts
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Assist in the preparation of menu items, including specialised food production and culinary tasks
- Manage team schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and motivate staff to achieve performance targets
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the café
- Monitor stock levels, place orders as necessary, and manage inventory to minimise waste
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing enquiries and resolving any issues promptly
- Train new team members in food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer engagement
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas in accordance with health regulations
- Support the implementation of promotional activities and special events within the café
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality environments, with a focus on food preparation, serving, or kitchen operations
- Supervising experience within a café or restaurant setting is highly desirable
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production and hygiene
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with culinary techniques, barista skills, or hotel hospitality is advantageous
- Good communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Previous experience in supervising or managing teams within a hospitality setting is preferred
