We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our busy Management team in Barnstaple dedicated to looking after the exceptional environment of North Devon - made up of its coastline, moors and historic urban and rural settlements centred on the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Braunton Burrows. Operational Services is seeking to appoint a Supervisor to:-

Provide supervision and technical support to maximise the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the Waste & Recycling services
- Be based at Brynsworthy Environment Centre and have experience of dealing diplomatically with a cross-section of employees and customers
- You will be Supervising the Yard team who run the baling and sorting equipment, ensuring traffic operations in the depot are carried out safely and efficiently
- You will also supervise the Street-scene team ensuring streets are kept clean and litter bins are emptied on schedule, as well as ensure the Toilet Cleaners keep on top of their daily cleaning schedules
- Responsible for carrying out inspections of field and site operations to ensure compliance of operations to safe working practices, to minimise relevant hazards
- To use a variety of IT apps/packages, to carry out appraisals, manage sickness levels, deal with disciplinary issues and general staffing issues
- Be able to work from 8am – 4pm predominantly, with occasional 6am – 2pm shift, working Monday to Friday and a Saturday following a bank holiday.
Knowledge of waste management & street cleansing operations, along with knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, desirable.
Full training for every aspect of the post will be provided.
