Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Insulation Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out insulation surveys across residential and commercial properties, assessing existing insulation, identifying areas requiring improvement, and producing accurate survey reports and recommendations.
The role involves working directly with customers, site teams and contractors, ensuring surveys are completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed insulation surveys of residential and commercial properties.
- Inspect lofts, Cavity, and other areas to assess existing insulation.
- Identify insulation defects, areas of heat loss, damp or ventilation concerns and opportunities for improvement.
- Take accurate measurements, photographs and relevant site information.
- Assess properties against applicable insulation standards, specifications and project requirements.
- Produce clear and accurate survey reports, including recommendations for remedial or additional insulation works.
- Identify potential risks or issues that may affect the installation of insulation.
- Liaise with customers to explain survey findings and recommended works in a clear and professional manner.
- Work closely with installation teams, project managers and other contractors.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all survey documentation is completed correctly.
- Follow company health and safety procedures and relevant industry regulations.
- Manage a daily schedule of site visits and ensure surveys are completed within required timescales.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in surveying, insulation, construction, building assessment or a related field.
- Good knowledge of insulation materials and installation methods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues during property inspections.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to accurately measure, record and report information.
- Comfortable working in lofts, confined areas and varying site environments.
- Good IT skills, including the ability to complete digital reports and use mobile/tablet-based applications.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage a schedule of multiple site visits.
- NVQ in Loft/CWI.
- DEA.
- Retrofit Assessor.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience with domestic or commercial energy-efficiency surveys.
- Knowledge of loft, cavity wall, internal wall, external wall or floor insulation.
- Relevant construction or surveying qualifications.
- Experience using surveying or property assessment software.
- Knowledge of current UK insulation, ventilation and energy-efficiency requirements.
- Previous experience working with retrofit or energy-efficiency programmes.
