Locum Pharmacist
Locations: Kettering (NN15) & Bracknell (RG42 3JP) Salary: £30.00 – £32.00 per hour Job Type: Part-time / Temporary / Locum Shift Duration: 9 to 12 hours per day
About the Role
We are seeking adaptable, reliable, and patient-focused Locum Pharmacists to cover long-day shifts across our sites in Kettering (NN15) and Bracknell (RG42 3JP). This role offers excellent competitive rates, high-hour shifts (9–12 hours), and regular booking opportunities for pharmacists looking for flexibility in their schedules.
As a Locum Pharmacist, you will step into the dispensary to maintain continuous, high-quality patient care, oversee clinical operations, and support the pharmacy team during designated shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, legal, and accurate clinical checking and dispensing of prescriptions during long day shifts.
- Act as the Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring full compliance with GPhC regulations and pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Deliver core NHS and private services (such as Pharmacy First, NMS, and seasonal vaccinations where applicable).
- Offer professional healthcare advice and over-the-counter consultations to patients.
- Lead and support the on-duty dispensary team to maintain smooth operational workflow.
Requirements
- Must be a GPhC Registered Pharmacist with an active registration number.
- Must hold valid Smartcard and Indemnity Insurance cover.
- Proven experience in UK community pharmacy environments.
- Strong communication skills, adaptable attitude, and ability to hit the ground running.
- Accredited for key clinical services (e.g., Pharmacy First, Flu vaccinations) is highly desirable.
