Approx 26 hours a week plus over time, staff cover and paperwork paid hours. More permanent hours expected in the near future.
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery, maintaining high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding for all children.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Nursery Manager in the daily management of the nursery
*Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding childcare and education
*Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and nursery policies
*Build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff
*Support planning and delivery of activities for children of all ages
*Help monitor staff performance, training, and development
*Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment
What does a SENCo do?
The Code of Practice lists four main areas of responsibility for SENCos in early years settings. They are expected to:
● Ensure all practitioners in the setting understand their responsibilities to children with SEN and the setting’s approach to identifying and meeting SEN.
● Advise and support colleagues.
● Ensure parents are closely involved throughout and that their insights inform action taken by the setting.
● Liaise with professionals or agencies beyond the setting.
Requirements;
Minimum Level 3 Childcare Qualification (essential)
Previous experience working with children of all age groups in a nursery setting
Experience in a senior room leader, deputy manager, or similar leadership role preferred
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Passionate about providing high-quality childcare
