Head / Senior Chef
Location: Florence House, Seaford, East Sussex

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to join our friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, high-quality food. Our kitchen is at the heart of Florence House, creating delicious, nourishing meals for groups to share and enjoy together, rather than cooking to individual order. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, using their initiative, and preparing vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes for up to 30 guests, served buffet style.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for guests.
- Menu planning and the development of seasonal dishes.
- Ordering food and managing stock efficiently within budget.
- Cater confidently for a range of dietary requirements and allergies.
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Complete daily food safety and hygiene checks.
- Ensure the kitchen consistently achieves and maintains a 5-star hygiene standard.
- Engage professionally with guests and provide excellent customer service.
About You
You will have:
- Previous experience working as a chef in a professional kitchen.
- Experience preparing vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes.
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and dietary requirements.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing new dishes within a set budget.
- A friendly, flexible and customer-focused approach.
Hours
This role is approximately 35 hours per week, including some weekend work.
Regular shift patterns are 9 2/5–8 or 10-8

Experience Required
- Minimum 2 year's experience as a Head Chef
- Level 2 health and safety certificate (required)
