We are looking for a practical, reliable and proactive Studio Maintenance Assistant to help keep our studios, production areas and shared spaces clean, organised, safe and ready for client bookings.
Job Location
This is an in-person position based at Finchley Studios in Finchley, London N3 1HH. It is not a remote or hybrid role, so candidates must be able to travel to the studio reliably.
The position is part-time, three days per week, approximately 15–20 hours in total.
The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to support the daily upkeep, maintenance and presentation of Finchley Studios.
You will help ensure that our studios, corridors, storage areas, toilets, kitchens, reception and production spaces are kept clean, tidy, functional and ready for clients.
This is a practical, hands-on role. Some tasks will involve general maintenance, small repairs, painting, cleaning, moving items, basic decorating, organising storage, assembling furniture, checking facilities and preparing spaces before and after bookings.
The role requires someone who takes pride in the environment, notices problems before being asked, and follows tasks through properly.
You do not need to be a qualified tradesperson, but you must be confident with practical maintenance tasks and comfortable working in a busy studio environment.
Responsibilities
You will:
Carry out general studio maintenance and upkeep.
Keep production areas, shared spaces and back-of-house areas clean and organised.
Assist with painting, touch-ups, decorating and basic repairs.
Help reset studios before and after client bookings.
Move, organise and store furniture, props, equipment and supplies safely.
Check rooms, corridors, toilets, kitchens and storage areas for cleanliness and presentation.
Report maintenance issues, damage, safety concerns or stock shortages.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers when required.
Assist with basic furniture assembly, wall mounting, fixture checks and small improvements.
Support occasional cleaning tasks when required.
Maintain tools, materials and supplies in an organised way.
Help prepare the building for client visits, viewings and production days.
Support the team with practical tasks across the studio.
Follow health and safety procedures.
Complete tasks properly without needing repeated reminders.
Provide updates on completed, outstanding and blocked maintenance tasks.
Who This Role Is For
This role is for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in keeping a building well-maintained.
You should be reliable, hands-on and comfortable doing a mixture of maintenance, cleaning, organising and practical support tasks.
You must be willing to help with both larger practical jobs and smaller routine tasks. Some work may be physical, repetitive or time-sensitive, so a flexible and positive attitude is important.
You should be able to work independently, notice what needs doing and complete tasks to a good standard.
You will be working around clients, production teams and studio staff, so professionalism, presentation and good communication are important.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, decorating, cleaning, caretaking, building support, property upkeep, studio support or similar practical work would be beneficial.
