About Endeavour Hub
Endeavour Hub supports young people aged 7–16 years who face challenges accessing mainstream education.
Our students may have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, anxiety, SEMH and additional learning needs. We provide a safe, structured and nurturing environment where young people can re-engage with education, build confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve meaningful outcomes.
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, experienced and resilient Mentor to join our team on a part-time, term-time-only basis.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker or education professional who is passionate about supporting young people who may struggle within mainstream education.
You will work closely with students on a 1:1 and small-group basis, providing encouragement, guidance and consistent support throughout their school day.
Previous experience working in a school or education setting with children or young people is essential.Driving Requirement – Essential
The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive.
As part of the role, you will be required to support student pick-up and drop-off by car when needed. Candidates must therefore be comfortable driving as part of their working day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN and additional learning needs
- Support students to engage positively with lessons and learning activities
- Encourage positive behaviour and learning habits
- Build strong, trusting and professional relationships with young people
- Support students with their confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing
- Help students work towards their academic, personal and social development goals
- Provide appropriate boundaries and consistent support
- Adapt your approach to meet individual student needs
- Support student pick-up and drop-off required
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working in a school or education setting with children or young people – essential
- Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, ADHD, Autism or additional learning needs
- Experience working within a school, PRU, Alternative Provision, residential care, youth work or similar setting
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with young people
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The confidence and resilience to support young people who may display challenging behaviour
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to education
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to drive students for pick-up and drop-off – essential
- The ability to work during school terms only
Qualifications
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, relevant education qualification or degree would be desirable.
However, relevant experience working with children and young people in an educational setting is essential.
