We are seeking an Authorised Person to join our team. This role is responsible for the control of electrical systems under the control of Datalec Precision Installations. This role ensures that these systems are safely managed in accordance with the Datalec Precision Installations Electrical Safety Rules and Procedures. The Electrical Authorised Person shall work closely with project teams, contractors, and commissioning agents to deliver high-quality, compliant installations.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
· Carry out duties as detailed in the letter of appointment.
· Hold a high standard of record keeping and organisation of electrical safety documents and other associated documentation.
· Produce electrical switching schedules and electrical safety programmes.
· Report any safety issues in line with business procedures.
· Report any electrical compliance issues in line with business procedures.
· Complete NICEIC Electrical Test Certificates.
· Undertake the duties of the NICEIC qualified supervisor.
· Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspection plans.
· Review and verify test documentation, including FAT, SAT, and commissioning reports.
· Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
· Ensure all electrical works are completed to the highest standards of safety and quality.
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
· Support the handover process by compiling and reviewing quality documentation and test packs.
· Participate in internal and external audits as required.
· Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties
· Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company, and group policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Skills and Experience
· Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
· Experience in electrical testing and quality control, preferably in data centre or critical infrastructure projects.
· Emergency first aid at work qualification.
· HVAP/LVAP qualification achieved within the last 3 years.
· Able to complete electrical safety documents to a high standard.
· Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant industry standards.
Experience with commissioning processes and integrated systems testing (IST).
· Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices.
· Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
· Can complete NICEIC certificates to a high standard.
· Strong communication and coordination abilities.
