Altrad are currently looking for a Yard Operative to join the team in Aberdeen, assisting with the mobilisation of materials for shipping to offshore locations and carrying out general yard duties.
Please note that there are no offshore trips associated with this position.
Key Deliverables:
- To assist in the co-ordination of all transportation and logistics.
- To assist with the accurate manifesting and returns of all materials.
- To assist with loading and emptying containers.
- To assist in ensuring that all shipping is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation.
- To carry out general yard duties as required.
- To undertake forklift activities as required.
- To actively participate and contribute to the day-to-day interface between Group Operations, Purchasing and R Plant.
- To assist in ensuring that both customer and company deliverables are met.
- To assist with the management and accuracy of stock levels.
- To complete routine stock audits on a quarterly basis.
Key Requirements/Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, logistics or materials environment would be advantageous.
- Forklift experience/certification would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of transportation, logistics and material handling procedures.
- Ability to accurately complete manifests, stock records and returns documentation.
- Good understanding of health, safety and applicable shipping legislation.
- Good organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with Operations, Purchasing and other internal teams.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to meeting customer and company deliverables.
- Willingness to undertake general yard and manual handling duties.
