We are looking for a Private Sector Housing Business Support Officer to join our Private Sector Housing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting services that help improve housing standards and protect residents across the borough.
As a Business Support Officer, you will be at the heart of the service, providing high-quality administrative and business support to a team of specialist housing professionals. You will be the first point of contact for many customers and partners, helping to ensure enquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
Your responsibilities will include:

Managing enquiries from tenants, landlords, residents and partner organisations.

Triaging and prioritising service requests.

Processing and administering House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) licence applications.
-
Maintaining accurate records and databases, including the Tascomi system.
-
Producing reports and performance information.
-
Coordinating meetings, managing diaries and taking minutes.
-
Processing invoices, payments and financial transactions.
-
Supporting the management of complaints, Freedom of Information requests and member enquiries.

Maintaining team inboxes, website content and social media updates.
-
Providing excellent customer service and signposting customers to appropriate officers when required.
We are seeking someone who is:

Highly organised with excellent administrative skills.

An effective communicator with strong interpersonal abilities.

Confident managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
-
Skilled at handling sensitive and confidential information.
-
Experienced in providing excellent customer service.
-
Comfortable using a range of IT systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Proactive, flexible and able to work on their own initiative.
-

You should have:

Five GCSEs including English and Maths.

An NVQ Level 3 in Business Studies (or equivalent qualification)

Significant experience working in an administrative or office-based environment.

Experience dealing with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.

Experience working to deadlines in a busy environment.
-
Experience supporting projects and financial processes.
